First game of the season on a weeknight (5 Viewers)

Anyone else feel it's a bit odd to be starting the season on a week night? Can't remember the last time it happened!

I know this is only a league cup game, but it's still the first proper league game of the season in my mind - just hope he puts out a good side tonight.

As a separate thought, we are probably the biggest club side that Daggers have played in their whole history, so they will be well up for it!

Hartlepool, Morecambe, Bury - will the trend continue?

They could have played last weekend, but chose today. If you have a look a fair few ties have already played.

I'm sick to death of all the midweek games; be they cup or league. I'm out of the country for the first league game.

God intended football to be played at 3:00pm on a Saturday. All this buggering about goes against that which should be sacrosanct

Even so, first game being on a week night, doesn't feel right!

I hate midweek as well but there does not seem too many and I think this one is to do with the Olympics.

If we only played on a saturday the season would last nearly a year without cup games

Unless they are a long way from home and you have work early next morning.

Well yeah I hate them as my working week involves a lot of travel. It's great fun leaving Conwy at 5 and getting back or even better hoping the flight from Douglas is on time.

Night games have been around ages!

I seem to remember us beating Newcastle at home 2-1 on a Monday night. Mick Harford scoring a header? Was that our first home game of the season? Would have been early 90's when the east stand was being built. I think Quinn missed a penalty.

Must admit, I enjoy a midweek game on a cold, crisp night at the Ricoh as much as a sunny Saturday afternoon game.

Unfortunately living in London these days I haven't been able to make a midweek Ricoh game for ages. I'll be there tonight though :)

listen on radio then if you dont wanna travel..

Nice shot :(

Some of us have to travel to all games. A home game is 4 1/2 hours away for me. I am nowhere near being alone here, and I start work 5:30 days and nights as I work shifts.

Another reason it feels odd is because CWR missed a trick and never had a pre match show to discuss all thats gone on this summer, baffoons
