O’Hare (3 Viewers)

He did, and it turns out he’s having an injury free season (like Walsh did for us)

with hindsight should we have paid the money? Yes! But ultimately he wanted first team guarentees, probably wanted a significant wage and had been off the back of an injury hit few years.

Theres no way we should have took that risk back in July. Fair play to him though. Showing what a player he is when 100% fit
The deal was done we didn’t give guarantees

One of the problems if you leave O’Hare out is that he does a lot of the pressing at the front, anybody who mentions Shipley needs to think as he doesn’t do that and has no energy. If O’Hare scored loads of goals and made loads do you think Villa would have let him go easily?

The point is he contributes zero goal threat. Just 5 would do, it’s 1 in his last 55 now. Nobody is being unreasonable to expect a number 10 to score some goals.

Having been kicked all over the park most games and running around a lot maybe he has little in his legs to shoot. Once he scored he may get a few more, it didn’t seem such a problem when Viktor was scoring at the start.

I find it absolutely brilliant Grendel thinks O’Hare is top draw but felt James Maddison was crap 🤣 he then likened O’Hare to John fleck 🤣 lose to Bristol it’s “listen just hear me out” part 4 😝😝

Don’t agree, he scored 2 last season and took 35 games to score another one.

His Championship record stands at 66 games with 3 goals

I know what I’ve always said on this but do you see him suddenly becoming clinical with end product at 22-23 ? Maddison was doing it from 18

I am taking a risk saying this as Allen is my lads favourite player but the game passed him by yesterday and he is hardly prolific although currently plays slightly deeper.

O’Hare shouldn’t be dropped. Not in a million years. For a rest I could buy into, if he needs it. If not then it’s bonkers.

It's a very difficult one. I feel he needs dropping for form and for him to feel like there is competition for his place. That said, there are no viable alternatives. Any other position on the pitch and I think he would have undoubtedly been dropped for a game or two already, but all the alternatives are worse. Allen has his plusses but he isn't a number 10. Waghorn there? Might be worth a look but still not particularly confident our overall play would benefit from the switch. Again, nothing new, but we desperately need competition there in January and possibly someone who could also do a job out wide so we have a formation switch to add to our armoury.

He’s trying too hard. Needs a spell to rest and get his head right and come back fighting.
I could go for this if we had adequate replacements. He’s had a poor few games by his own standards, but we’re a much worse team without him.
He’ll be the subject of the other team’s defensive plan, teams are quick to press him, double up on him.
He’ll come good.

Assists and goals have to be part of his game ? When do you see that “coming good” ?

Not the same, but I’d put Allen or Jones or Waghorn in for a couple of games. Short term pain for hopefully long term gain.

That’s more because the alternatives aren’t worth considering

O'Hare certainly was not a guaranteed starter in league one - can understand the rest argument but we have a break after next game where he can rest for a bit longer anyhow. I would play him against Bristol City which in theory is a game that could be made for him. Obviously if he performas like he did last night I would hook him though if not improved by around the 60 minute mark.

When O Hare is off the pitch we create nothing - absolutely nothing - we signed a lazy drunk as a cheap back up option and its blown up in our face
