When O Hare is off the pitch we create nothing - absolutely nothing - we signed a lazy drunk as a cheap back up option and its blown up in our face
He create stuff as he’s so iratic his goals/assists record is poor

If he’s fit he plays ? Do you think O’Hare gets into Swansea Starting 11 ?
Considering his stats suggest he’s a massive attacking threat In this league (granted the goals scored is concerning) Id imagine he would.

we’re a side built on team spirit and camaderie, can you imagine what damage it would do if they turned round and said - right Paterson’s playing, we’ll just build around him. Robins has changed tactics half way through each season, who’s to say that in 15 games time we switch to a formation that doesn’t suit Paterson.

as I’ve said - would I have him? Absolutely - but every player has to earn their shirt

Not the same, but I’d put Allen or Jones or Waghorn in for a couple of games. Short term pain for hopefully long term gain.

Waghorn is injured, Jones when he came on looked scared and Allen struggled last night.

Allen struggled in CM, Jones barely got into the game. But regardless O’Hare needs a rest IMO and even playing a different system like a flat three in midfield for a couple of games is worth it if he comes back stronger.

After Saturday we don’t play until the 20th so a rest is coming.

Assists and goals have to be part of his game ? When do you see that “coming good” ?

Could be anytime, it’s just the final execution that’s missing.

He’s learning to play whilst being the focus of the other team’s defensive strategy. Why do you think Allen had so much space in games earlier this season.

People will only realise how much we rely on O'Hare when he is taken out the team.

To me he’s never looked less likely to score - you would expect to be seeing incremental improvements at least

Baffled that I'm seeing people slate O'Hare but suggesting Jodi Jones and Waghorn as replacements in that position.

Scoring is an obvious weakness in his game. I know it's a division lower, but he thrived when on loan as an impact sub. Having the ability to mix it up a bit, allow him to come on later in some games would possibly help him gain some confidence in that respect, too.

It's pretty clear that this thread is full of people saying Waghorn should play in the 10.

Because O’Hare needs a rest. It’s only one or two people saying he needs dropping permanently. It’s about how to you get him back to his best.

He’s had more shots without scoring than any other player in the division, pretty damning on the face of it but it shows he’s getting chances. Robins said he’s a good finisher just in his own head.

And that’s the problem in itself. The other options aren’t worth considering, he has the place by default rather than by storming performances every week

Do you think he’s got better at it or shown any indication of gradually improving? Admire your faith but he’s been here for over 100 games now which is a fair yardstick to judge

I don't think he'll ever be a great finisher, but confidence will undoubtedly play a part.

They all seemed to get frustrated last night and ended up overthinking which took some of the quickness out of their play

Gyo was through on the right at one point and a simple quick ball would have given Jones a tap in, but he overthought, tried a trick and the chance was gone, which kind of summed it up.

Confidence is definitely shaky throughout the team based on last night, self doubt creeping in perhaps- Saturday is going to be huge in terms of either stopping that or letting it fester more

A bit like Hamer. We rely on him so bad that the one game he didn’t feature in we beat one of the best teams in the league 4-1 and O’hare was suberb

I happen to think he's not the best finisher too, FWIW, but a hot streak of form has given him the confidence to keep banging them in. Obviously you'd expect more goals from him regardless, than O'Hare, but I'm sticking to the principle :)

I would agree

He needs help and we need to freshen things up- definitely Waghorn in, and I would almost be tempted to give him a rest.. if it could be handled in the right way

Do you perhaps think they defended that high because they knew we had no pace? I doubt they would use the exact same style or tactic against a team with quick forwards. Just a thought.

But then there'd have either been gaps between their lines to exploit or their whole team has to step back 10 yards and they can't high press us, which caused us issues.

1000%. It was so easy for them.

Even when Jodi came on, we played him too deep. Maatsen stayed up top from their corners. He should have gambled and played up further forward to break their high line.

I know Maatsen's not that tall but as he plays in a position that requires a decent defensive understanding you'd think you'd have him back and push the more attacking Jones up front.

I’ve been saying the same thing, how old is he ? 22-23 can you see him suddenly becoming clinical I assists or scoring,2 & half years here it hasn’t progressed

Given him extra shooting practice in training and say he can't leave until he's scored 10 in a row.

O’hares lack of goals is starting to become an issue.

No way is Shipley a better player or should be playing instead o hare but I’d but money on him having scored a couple of goals if he’d played the minutes o’hare had by now.

People are starting to see it we’ve even got Shipley being mentioned

I still find it remarkable he isn't even having a run out during games. There's been plenty of opportunities to rest Hamer and O'Hare when we are winning.
