Yeah nevermind his complete lack of experience, or whether he’s capable of playing our style of football, get Fabio McBean on. Teams won’t know what to do when they see a player who can run fast, what could possibly go wrong.

With waghorn seemingly out and o’hare and gyok knackered , I don’t see why not give him a try off the bench

Proven goal scorer. Has to be a better option than Walker given their respective records

I don't know if Tavares is the answer but we were crying out for some pace up front last night, they were pushed up on the half way line when they pressed. A couple of decent balls went over the top but Godden is always coming second in a foot race.

I wanna see Tavares get some minutes off the bench, also so quicker players signed in January possibly not ones that could go straight into the starting 11 but certainly ones that can make an impact

It wasn't the pace we were missing it was the players looking to play an early ball. Hyam is one example here of a player not being brave enough to try anything other than a square pass.

I was severely disappointed with Godden last night, not his fault but he/we were handicapped with his lack of pace, his speed of thought was brilliant but his lack of pace let him down on at least 2 occasions, if we happened to get promoted it would be even more evident in the prem

For every one step forward Godden takes, their defenders were taking two. It's not his game, but his pace at this level is alarming. Looks like he's got cement in his boots

Maybe the new contract was weighing him down 🤣 still surprised we extended him

It's a shame (for Tav) that we haven't got the EFL Trophy or early rounds of the Carabao Cup to chuck him in for 30 mins or a start maybe.

We need to either buy someone with pace or develop one.

He was making some decent curved runs and was playing on the shoulder all night...a lot of the time the ball never came or was too late and by the he was off and had to check his run. Surprised Walker didn’t get 15-20 though

Back to Taveres though. Just for pure pace, which we haven’t really got anywhere anywhere in the squad, I’d be tempted to have him on the bench to chuck on for a few mins. Their defence last night would’ve had to have changed their shape and sat deeper, opens up space for Ohare etc. Sometimes worth a punt

At home if he isn’t going to pick Sheaf or Kelly you can only really have one of them on the bench in case you would have to chase the game, Tavares will be a bit of an unknown player (if any player is nowadays) and his confidence must be sky high.

Godden doesn’t have the explosive pace to get him away from defenders at this level that is why he is playing right in the lines of offside to steal a yard to get away.

I'm a huge fan of Godden, but I thought he was anonymous last night. Not sure whether that was because Swansea made sure he was quiet, or he was just off his game, but he probably needed to be replaced by someone who offered something different for the last 30 mins, whether that be Tavares, Walker or A.N.Other. The thing is, Godden can just pop up with a goal even when he's not playing well, so it's a gamble to either leave him on OR replace him.
