Long story short

Dabo is better defensively, kane is better going forward based on this seasons stats

Dabo also leads comfortably on ball recoveries , but I couldn't fit it on the page

Luton aside where everyone was bad, I think from what I’ve seen Kane is better defensively than Dabo.

The stats say otherwise
Per 90

More interceptions , more tackles ,higher % of aerial and ground duels won , more ball recoveries

Fair enough. I just feel more comfortable with Kane, and think he looks more composed defensively and positionally.

I mean if dabo is "out of form " then he's still not doing so badly .. I found this as fair a reflection on the stats that would matter really , and I have to say they show a "battler" VS a more "finesse" player .

Also shows dabo doesn't have as bad a delivery as made out on here

My point of view is he isn't out of form but if you don't switch things up periodically it can become stale. Dabo is a favourite player of mine but I want players fighting for every call up. Dabo is playing fine but he's better than that and he's shown he is.

Robins is brave enough to do it, he's done it with Walker & Sheaf.

I think dabo is getting a rough time on here personally , it's good we have competition , it's also good to realise we need the right balance .. with 1 being better defensively and 1 being better offensively we need to use them right

And today , he was also played in a position where he's not that comfortable

Hopefully now Kane is proving his place we can get rid of Da Costa and get one more person off the wage bill for money better spent elsewhere

Who is going to take him? Otherwise we would have to pay him off which defeats the point of getting rid of him

Even the weird haters are starting to get it. I used to just say he's on better form than Dabo as an excuse to get him in, but actually I think he's just better than Dabo.

I've said it before but he's a different player to Dabo and we'd need to change the the way we play slightly to bring him in and I'm not sure Robins will.

I would have no problem with it if we did

I think Dabo is better defensively. Kane undoubtedly has better delivery/end product.

Kane loses points though for referring to himself as 'The TK' on Instagram. That's just unforgivable.

At least it’s not “ToddymuvvafuckinKano” or something (yes, looking at you Jak)….

He’s first choice now or Robins is on crack.

End of discussion.

I thought he was unlucky to be dropped for the Brum game. I thought he played really well at Sheffield Utd.

He should teach Dabo how to cross the ball.

Great bit of business. Didn’t see yesterdays game but sounds like Kane deserves be given a go for next couple

Dabo will come again and both, together with Maatsen, will get plenty of minutes this season.

I just don't think it's really fair on the guy, he's clearly playing better then Dabo so therefore you would think he'd be nailed on to start but actually I do still think Robins will go with Dabo next game. If its the case I'd probably be looking to move on already because what's the point?

Well let’s wait and see who starts. Walker of course scored 2 in 2 and got benched anyway.

Apparently he's a really funny character so that's likely to be self deprecation

Shame Biamou's not here anymore - they could have done a podcast together.

You could argue in the system we play there's more importance to the attacking attributes of our wing backs, and in that aspect Kane is clearly more refined and deserves a run in the team.

At the very least he needs to be coming on in minute 60-70 against teams such as Birmingham. When you weigh it up you're not sacrificing too much defensive cover for a better attacking option when he's on the pitch. He's decent defensively.

It's proving to be a very good signing lots of press before he signed about his character or judgement whichever way you want to frame it. But what was not in question was his ability to play, in fact the fans spoke well of his performances at his previous clubs.

He has added quality in depth to our squad and seems to be a character that fits in the group. Very confident in his own ability and we have gained from others being hesitant or being put off by supposed controversy. AV knows the player and the man which is now our gain and others lose. Hope he continues playing well and let's his feet do his talking.

Just need to find another with the same attributes to play on the left and it will be a tough squad to get into.
