Yes He played well against Blackburn but Gyok, Godden and Waghorn have played well against just about everyone. He played well at Blackburn. Lots of lifting his head and looking for receivers. Helped tire out their defenders.
If he’s happy to wait for his chance, then I’d keep him around.Yes He played well against Blackburn but Gyok, Godden and Waghorn have played well against just about everyone.
You just can't keep 4 decent strikers happy all the time I guess.
At Championship level?I’d put money on it happening.
Sorry I should never have mentioned that word!Apart from Biamou was nowhere near good enough.
They’re completely different players so I doubt one is going to be an automatic preference over the other. It'll be interesting to see what the pecking order is once Waghorn returns. One of them is going to get very little game time.
I think very few thought Godden would score the amount he has. Godden has the 3rd best goals per minute in the championship, with only Mitrovic and Brereton better. So it's no wonder Walker is below Godden in the order. Not his fault, just circumstance.
I agree. I think one of Gyokeres or Waghorn normally has to play. Otherwise we fail to hold enough of the ball in forward positionsThey’re completely different players so I doubt one is going to be an automatic preference over the other.
Standard marriageAfter 2 years chasing him I think robins now doesn’t fancy him
We’re all very aware of your opinion which you’ve ‘enlightened’ us with a million times. Time to give it a rest and move on don’t you think?Apart from Biamou was nowhere near good enough.
He would, he knows where the net is, but unfortunately like JCH he doesn’t necessarily fit our style I thinkWatch him do a JCH and score 20 goals for someone else if he leaves, mind!
Found your login details then? We’re all very aware of your opinion which you’ve ‘enlightened’ us with a million times. Time to give it a rest and move on don’t you think?
We’re not going to sell Walker and replace him with Tavares.I think we probably will look to offload if a suitable offer comes in as Tavares will be chomping at the bit, I reckon also if we could reinvest would play a part in if that happens as well
Why not? If we get a decent sum and can improve other areasWe’re not going to sell Walker and replace him with Tavares.
Actually I believe that some of these lads would have gone out on loan but we wanted the clubs to pay their full salariesPeople banging on about Walker and Shipley leaving in January.
The club would want money for both players. No club in League 1 has any money to pay even half of what Walker cost.
Neither will go on loan either. What do we get from sending either out on loan? Again, clubs lower down won't fancy paying the wages.
We will unfortunately struggle to get rid of any of the deadwood in January. That includes Jobello and Hilsner unless we pay off their contracts.
Because Tavares is nowhere near as good as Walker and we need strength in depth. Why not? If we get a decent sum and can improve other areas
People keep going on about this but Gyokeres and Godden were also scoring at that time. It was some sort of slight on Walker. This healthy competition for places.Writing seemed to be on the wall when he scored in successive games and was dropped. They were his only starts in the league and he scored in both. 1 goal in 1 start in the cup too.
I meant 'wasn't'People keep going on about this but Gyokeres and Godden were also scoring at that time. It was some sort of slight on Walker. This healthy competition for places.
I think Tavares needs the chanceBecause Tavares is nowhere near as good as Walker and we need strength in depth.
There’s a difference between being given a chance and being our main back up striker.I think Tavares needs the chance
