Hmm, I actually think this would be a decent signing. Always looked pretty good for Southampton when I saw him play.

Are people expecting us to sign Ronaldo or something? Proven Goalscorers do cost a lot of money!

But Nick this guy is proven to not be a goalscorer. I'd rather we pick up someone young that banged in 10-15 in league 2/non league last season than guys that obviously have trouble finding the back of the net.

I'm a fan of the manager but he isn't a miracle worker. He can't make bad strikers into good strikers.

n.b. have you seen Ronaldo recently? I reckon I could do a better job than that lump.

We will have to wait and see id he does sign.

People who score in League 2 still cost money though..

I don't think he's a proven non-goalscorer. He's got 1 in 5, is a bit of a target man and has played a lot off the bench. Clive Platt has been lauded for having a far inferior goal scoring record because he was a target man.

Which Ronaldo are we talking about, the Brazilian, or Cristiano?

I don't think we need McGoldrick as he will just be sitting on the bench at best when we sign Alves and Beckford?

Up front we have Ball, Elliott, ROD, Jeffers, McDonald.

If we did get a striker in, would this mean ROD on his way out?

Pretty sure this guy is Lacey and can play on wing too.
Would love to attract a premiership loan signing of Norwood's quality, but this is more the type of transfer I expect

Woohoo, Another striker who can't score. btw I'd happily take the worlds greatest ever player on, even if he is now about 10 stone over weight :p;)

Would be a reasonable permanent signing but not on loan.

It's a loan with a view to a permanent signing in January. He only has 1 year left on his contract so it's in their interests to sell him.

Was pretty decent at Southampton I thought. Always had a lot of competition at Forest so never really made much of an impact there.

That would be ok. Think Ball & McDonald will be starters though.

That changes the game and I'd be happy to take him on that basis. If he is pants we can send him back in Jan.

He was decent at Southampton, it was there that he had his Andy Carroll season.

That's good though, we need strikers to be able to push the first choices, whoever they are. Complacency was a major factor that got us where we are, we can't have it again.

At the moment we only really have Cody and Ball. And Ball is still young and learning the game, so we could do with someone with a bit of quality and experience. McGoldrick is a decent player, strong and quick, would be a decent signing in League One.

Wonder if we're still looking to sign Poloskey too? That would be 3 big strikers along with McDonald and Elliott, would give us plenty of attacking options!

we are in the position that we are now because of our lack of goals .even our goal scoring chances are poor . if we dont get our selves a goal scorer we are going to struggle to even make the play offs..we need to spend some of the money sisu said we could have and buy a striker .my recommendation would be stuart beavon .the strikers we have really worry me including cody

Not a natural goalscorer but would improve the squad and be a better option than ROD/Jeffers

1 in 5 won't even land 10 goals this season. With money at a premium we can't afford to waste it on a very average record-however, Thorn tends to favour attributes over statistics, so maybe he'll fit in better here (if he signs).

Did Clive Platt get 10 goals in his whole time here? We have no idea how he'll do here. I'd rather just give him a chance for us first before making any judgments.
