Delivering the large, expensive indoor Fan Villages of previous seasons at every game is no longer viable and we have had to look at ways to repurpose certain areas of the Arena to create new revenue streams. This is why currently we have no permanent club shop, and the Clubhouse is closed.

Seems a bit strange.

The clubhouse presumably is a bar. If you can't afford to staff the bars on a match day that's not a good sign!

Yeah it's the bar at the other end of the Atrium I think, slightly underground.

Also suggests they saw the bar as a bigger money maker than the club shop. Weird they have no shop as one thing I would say they have going for them is that when people wanted to jump on the Wasps Wagon they went full kit wanker.

How does that make sense? They had a bar and shop, closed the shop to open a second bar but now have one bar closed and no shop. They've spent money to go backwards! What are the odds that the new shop will be part of the work paid for by the taxpayer?

You have to laugh when they blame lower attendances on the fact they've stopped handing out as many free tickets when since they've been here there's been a complete denial that was what they were doing. At least they admit what everyone on here was telling them from day one, it devalues the product and doesn't generate returning supporters.

If we received an email like that from Boddy I'd be very worried. Its a roundabout way of saying we're skint and haven't created a sustainable supporter base in Cov.

To be honest it’s the type of rubbish Boddy or Fisher would come out with.

No mention of Bond refinancing and no shows who’ve purchased tickets need to be included in the crowd

Crowds as budgeted, I highly doubt that. Still Mr Vaughan did say they were on course to break even without Covid which seems odd on such low crowds.

The only honest thing was the free ticket admission which always was a dumb strategy as I repeatedly said - the Gerard Ratner approach to brand building - but something many said was a brilliant marketing strategy

Thought the bars were operated by a 3rd party?

Seems a bit strange.

So the part of the match day experience some of there fans cry for is to expensive to run.

Are wasps the only pro sports team without a shop at the stadium they own. Shows that 99% of the time it would be completely empty

I assume ironically they are implying the rental they get for leasing space for the football club is more lucrative than having their own merchandise point of sale.

Said that years ago, people got free tickets and went because of the rides in the exhibition hall.

It seems that people don't really like Rugby but went for the day out when they got a free ticket. Few beers while they are there and some selfies.

The free tickets were a great strategy if you were looking to head out on a high.

Does Vaughan post on here as a lot of what he's said has been discussed in this thread for years. Not sure why Shugs is so enthusiastic about it mind as it sets out a fairly bleak existence.
That's what I find frustrating with Wasps supporters. This has all been obvious from day one and pointed out on here over and over again, and those that keep an eye on their forum have said they have mocked SBT for saying those things.

Over 4 years on Vaughan comes out with the same thing we've said for years and they're falling over themselves to praise him while completely ignoring the bleak picture he paints.

The shop is closed as the club realise online is the way to sell merchandise 😂

Ironically that game had a promotional code where tickets could be bought for £10

This is a big year for events there but forty percent off people are currently not turning up for events so good luck with that.

I’ve never read so much dribble Drabble. 30% non attendees? Who’s he kidding? His embarrassing himself and looks a typical corporate type who is sugar coating a hand full of shit.

They are knackered and on their knees and will be liquidated at this rate.

I wonder how many of the 13.5K there were London Irish supporters too.

That 13.5k will include the 30% he says didn't turn up too wouldn't it? So actually more like 9,500 in the ground, some of which were only paying £10?

Christmas Cracker indeed, they'll be giving the tickets away in them next year.

If 30% of paid ticket holders for Wasps games are no-showing that surely has to be a worry. Even if it is replicated across the league it is just further proof that people aren't really that bothered about rugby.

Looking at our attendances and lack of available seats in many blocks I'd be amazed if the numbers for our games are anywhere near that percentage.

Dint wasp put a high price per head on attendee for spend in stadium. So that 30% less people spending in the stadium.

But also 30% less people to give a free flag too.
