Tbf he’s had to be a team player this season, covering at Lb, Cb and then a bit in and out of the team. I’ve no doubt that with an extended spell in his actual position he’d be fine.

He was put at CB when we had Hyam available

Weird how he recovered form that groin injury. I thought that was him done, unless he just needed a breather? He'll have nightmares about today I'm sure

He’s solid and competitive. My only concern would be his mobility particularly playing as a wing back. But today was an opportunity missed to test him against championship opponents. He certainly wouldn’t have weakened the team

I'd agree mate. Think he'd probably be ok in a back 4 but lacks the real attacking intent required of our wing-backs.
As you say though, Dabo offered pretty much nothing either attacking or defensively today though so couldn't do any harm.

I agree I’m a Dabo fan but nobody could’ve been worse than him at LWB today

I thought Shipley had a decent game but I don't base my opinion on pre- conceived ideas. I'm not saying he's adequate as a regular at this level but today he was ok.

Dabo was diving in against a player who had the beating of him and in the second half had totally lost his confidence even to play the ball in possession. I'm not sure whether he was carrying a knock but whatever he should have been taken off.

We were no better than Derby just as Millwall were no better than us. You win some. You lose some. You don't always get what you deserve, but we certainly didn't deserve to lose so I'm happy to move on to Round 4

First half he was fine, second half he was really poor imo.

I think 2 moments really summed up his performance.

1) Had a simple pass to Kane outside him but instead of just rolling it into his path he tried to do some bizarre fancy, no look, reverse pass despite not being under any pressure, totally fluffed it, knocking it about a yard in front of himself & straight to their defender stopping a promising attack.

2) We know he's not defensively great, particularly defending 1v1, but the way he picked up his yellow card was just daft. Rather than simply close down & jockey, he showed their player onto his stronger side to literally walk around him so he then cynically tripped him. Really, really poor & made even less of an attempt at tackles etc than normal after that.

I'm not for laying into him, he did some good bits & as I say first half he was fine without really influencing the game.
We can't afford to be sentimental though, it's pretty clear that as a club we have now far surpassed his ceiling & it would be best for all parties if he finds himself a new club & regular game time. We should remember all the great things he's done for us over the years & wish him well.

Kane and Hyam also did their jobs well.

Not sure whether Dabo’s shocker was simply down to being out of position or whether there was something more going on there (niggle, long covid etc). Defo need another lwb
Yeah something going on there with not taking him off after 60 he was non existent

I generally agree with that but what’s clear to me is the play is unrecognisable from what this group is capable of. It’s quite frustrating to see

It’s becoming so much easier to identify the clueless morons given Sheaf’s performances lately. I can’t think of the last game he wasn’t one of our best players.

couple them with the clueless morons who don't rate O'Hare and it's quite a nest of roasters we've got on here.

Had a night to reflect Wilson did what was asked and pulled off a couple of decent saves, defence were solid although Derby didn't really pose that many problems, although Dabo had an absolute mare! Sheaf started a bit dodgy and progressed into the game 2nd half in particular, Shipley was ok better than he has shown in the games hes played previously Allen ran about a lot and Hamer didn't really impose himself and looked slightly rusty, Godden I don't think played very well...poor first touch caught in 2 minds dreadful attempt at goal but on the whole a poor game of football from both teams and hopefully we have reintroduced ourselves to each other so we can look like a team again next time out

Hyam was man of the match for me

Yep quietly going about his business. Has to be one of the signings of MR era

He did ok but think he was the weakest of the 3 CBs on the day personally. Was routinely beaten aerially in the first half (think his goal was probably first header he won actually) as Derby played the diagonal out to Forsyth. He badly misjudged one second half too, nearly giving up a chance but recovered well to clear tbf fair to him.

Agree that he's having a decent season though, being on the right of the 3 has helped massively, had my doubts he could step up last season so fair play to him.
