Christ. So bloke doesn't want his kid taken.

Madness, hope the kid is ok
Apparently the armed police are from the anti terrorist squad. Not sure if that’s because it actually is an anti terror incident or if that’s just who was available.

Fkn hell didn't realise it was still going on. Hope all ok. Obv earlier was being flippant about the amount of police for just one bloke, but genuinely hope all are ok, not only kids but local residents that they didn't allow to leave either.

Get that there's a child involved but can't help thinking there's more involved. They've had a large area sealed off for 2 days now with schools & businesses shut and residents told not to leave their homes without a police escort.

The sheer number of armed officers on the scene doesn't seem right for one person with a kid even if he is armed.

I reckon it is nothing more than one nutter with a gun (which could be fake). Police have backed them self into a corner here now. If the police had genuine concerns as to the safety of the child they would be going in, the fact that they are not makes them look a bit daft to me.

They won't storm somewhere with a child unless they seriously think the child is in immediate danger or if they think he's got some sort of bomb.

Look at that bowling alley siege in Nuneaton where he had two hostages, they'd gone in by now.

Agree, they must think the child is not at threat or they would storm in, but how long do they wait? In the mean time he is asking for fish finger sandwhiche's!!

My front door is literally a 3 second walk away from houses that have been made to stay inside where as I can fill my boots. There’s nothing more to it other than they’ve chosen an area to lock down.

The whole lockdown thing seems really overboard to me, do they really need to extend it as far as they have?
Maybe it's like that episode of Porridge where Fletcher drinks the wrong cup of coffee. Anytime now after his fish finger sandwhich he could pass out!!

Yes, I understand it's closed up to the Highland Rd junction, where my mate lives. He's just pissed off that he had to walk all the way round and along Albany to get to Earlsdon for his breakfast 😂
He didn't hear any bangs either.
