Yes, I understand it's closed up to the Highland Rd junction, where my mate lives. He's just pissed off that he had to walk all the way round and along Albany to get to Earlsdon for his breakfast 😂
He didn't hear any bangs either.

It is , just drove down Kensington Rd, and the cordon starts there, fairly sure it started at Westwood Rd yesterday.

Genuinely why don’t they put tranqs in the food in these situations?

The aim is to build a rapport with the suspect in the hope that the situation can be de-escalated peacefully. Sending in food is one way to build that trust; poisoning said food would likely see things turn hostile very quickly.

Yeah that's correct, just got caught out myself on a walk.

Don't want to be alarmist but the last time I was involved in an ever expanding cordoned area was when I worked in Aston and that was due to a bomb (unexploded WW2).

We started off about 400 yards outside it and by the time they detonated it we were about 50 yards outside it.

Years ago, the 2 lads that robbed the bank and killed a copper in Tile Hill. They broke into a house in Earlsdon and holed up there, one of them ended up shooting himself
Oh ok, i remember the bank job and killing the copper but didn't remeber the other stuff.

I’ve never drugged someone non-consenting but surely by the time they know it’s too late?

Not great if they feed it all to the child.

Also probably only works once, and all future situations see proper siege, where they resort to drinking their own piss.

Just had a read of this guy´s profile and it is fair to say he is having a bit of an episode. Seems to be an ex squaddie going on about Andy McNab and Ant Middleton.

Reckon it could be some sort of schizophrenic episode given the erratic level of paranoia too. Fingers crossed it gets sorted out calmly.

Yea judging by his recent posts the man clearly needs help.

Just hope he realises that the best thing he can do for his son who he clearly loves is to let his son leave the house

It has gone on for a really long time already, slightly concerning.

Just read the article and if I was still living in Earlsdon my house was right in the middle of the cordon.

Yeah definitely, feel bad for him as his profile seems to show a pretty devoted father. Hope this can end without harm and he can get the support he needs.

I'm guessing it's not that easy to knock someone out with poisoned food without it being obvious. Either way - it's the kind of risk they want to avoid taking so long as they still think a peaceful outcome is possible.
