Shouldnt the question be how many people have changed their opinion on our owners from the last last post on here a few weeks ago.
If they dont back the manager and team in January should they go?

BTW I voted in.

Generally I don’t see much changing

One thing sisu have improved is messaging. Fisher was the guy delivering bullets big Boddy is seen as a trustworthy friendly voice

Expectation is better managed and the clubs message is one of financial prudence against a tide of clubs spending wildly

The manager works with it and I guess why wouldn’t he. It’s a very safe job in an uncertain profession.

it’s similar in strategy to Wasps by initiating key phrases - “world class” training ground, “huge revenue streams” “biggest club in Europe”

it’s all spin but it works

Robins is going nowhere - he worships at the Sisu temple and has many loyal disciples. Crowd hostility will increase if we keep losing that goes with the territory but he will stay on message and enough will continue to get the Sisu Mat out
The only reason you put yours away was because of your dislike for Robins. Presumably you blame him for all the times you’ve embarrassed yourself calling taxis for him in promotion seasons, seasons he’s consolidated and seasons we’ve defied the budget and the odds to overachieve. Which is every season he’s been here.

Just so we have this right. Once and for all.
After today.
Robins is going nowhere - 100% because of his achievements. And 0% because of any other reason’s.

Cheers & Goodnight.

No he’s going nowhere as Sisu remain our owners and the two are entwined, also “after today” - a win against a poor team - ok

A new owner wouldn't get rid of a manager who has a football club on the up year on year though either , so the owner bit is pointless as they'd also keep him

He is utterly clueless. I do not get his vendetta against Robins. It’s that bad he said not getting promoted would be considered a bad season - just so he can blame robins

His beef lies in Robins’ closeness to the owners. Someone who is achieving despite, not because of those above him and are making him walk an even finer line than his peers in this financial basket case of a division

Problem is he made his bed all those years ago and demanded Robins be sacked.

Robins made him look stupid and rather than admit he got it wrong he doubled down and carried on digging.

Now he's so far into the hole he dug if he carries on slating Robins he looks stupid and if he admits Robins is doing a good job he looks stupid. He can't look anything other than stupid now all because of his ridiculous stubbornness.

However , a manager not on good terms with his boss , is never going to be able to make it work at all , so his logic is flawed

Does he want a successful club and manager , or does he want drama ? Is he 10 ?

There is a middle ground to be had though in not being militant towards the owners but still arguing against the current MO. His stock is at its highest here so he won’t rock the boat whatsoever in that regard.

I guess there's no arguing to be had , he's been given a job to do and he's done it . Yea sure he probably wants more money ..along with 24 other managers in this league but he's delivering .

Coventry City , a terribly ran football club with terrible owners , 8th in the championship after 2 promotions in 4 seasons .

There's no boat to rock , grendel should be pleased that despite our issues , we've a manager that's managed to do that

And let's remember the long list of managers that came and failed before him ?

None of us want that anymore

Contributed to an appalling thread last year. Mentioned Kenny Jackett as a legitimate replacement for Robins.
Contributed to a thread in which he said something very close to the tune that Robins’ doesn’t have the ability to turn form around when it dips.
Also contributed to a questioning something along the lines of that Robin’s struggles at Championship level & that is somehow relevant to his current tenure.

Now playing the long, long probably very long game to say “I told you so”

Well eventually without investment that would happen probably .. look at Burnley now .

Their fans don't blame Dyche

We would hit a ceiling at some point it could well be now who knows

I suspect there is when we have a squad desperately short on quality and the owners are busy adding on high interest loans to the club so that we are handicapped more than other clubs with similar or lower crowds

I mean where are we desperately short of quality ? We could do with a couple In sure , we are a good side , I definitely don't see us being desperately short of quality .. Barnsley and posh however

Not sure that you can describe a side 8th in this league as being desperately short of quality

If we are desperately short , then there's 16 other sides in the same boat atleast

On another note , there's only 5 sides that have scored more goals than us this season , and only 5 sides that have conceded less

We are a good side

I’m talking beyond the starting XI.

At CB we’re one injury away from having no backup
LWB currently we’re asking Dabo or Shipley to fill in
CM if Hamer or Sheaf are out there’s nothing there
AM it’s O’Hare and little else

It’s pretty precarious from where I’m standing and knowing that extra money we produce goes on paying down interest and not into the club should be a concern

So squad wise yes we need 1 on 2 in .. me personally don't think we are desperately short of quality though

Quality needed at LWB, CB, both parts of midfield, otherwise really it’s got paper thin depth. We have been achieving more than the sum of our parts for the most part, as and when one or two injuries or tiredness appears we fall off.

It’s relying on Robins working wonders every season, and puts a cap on what we can achieve compared to similarly supported clubs. Why tie his hands even further?

We'd be desperately unlucky to have so many injuries imho to really suffer .. and I'm sure we will get a couple In this month probably on loan .

Back to the original point of the thread , your last paragraph started with the words " Robins working wonders " and I agree , so grendels opinion or persistent inability to appreciate the job he's done is what most of us don't or will ever understand.

It's now simply playing to the crowd nothing more

Never agreed with the calls or hints for sacking him-but he is walking a tighter rope than needs to be the case thanks to the interest being charged on top. That’s all

Id say if we get Bidwell in we’re short a CB or two, a CM or two, an AM and possibly a GK (though Wilson has done better than expected stepping in). Arguably a striker or two as well.

So a new squad then 🤣 , you've potentially 7 players there

We'd have 6 first team central midfields
6 strikers

AM yea we need 1

And we'd have potentially 6 centre halves

Never going to happen

Just a second string. We need 6 centre halves, we play with three. We’ve got four right now and have had to play people out of position or out of form.

And the assumption is Waghorn and Walker would be replaced not added to. That’s borderline though. I still like both of them and think they can do a job. Unlike say Shipley and Kelly who I think we’ve taken as far as we can.

I think we can get away with 1 centre half and 1 attacking midfielder personally .. wing back being a bit touch and go potentially too .

We're addressing and apparently about to solve the LWB issue
We can't afford have 5 quality CB's on the books with two sitting on the bench every week (not sure any team in the league can)
CM we have Hamer, Sheaf, Kelly, Allen, Eccles. Similar point to the cb issue.
AM I agree is a weak point. Thankfully O'Hare is very durable.

We don't need anywhere near the numbers being touted tbh
