Andy Gray sacked by Sky Sports as star analyst pays the price for sexist tirade

Andy Gray has been sacked by Sky Sports over the sexist scandal that has rocked football.
The TV pundit has been shown the red card after his controversial comments aimed at female assistant referee Sian Massey.
Gray was caught criticising Massey off-air in two separate incidents and he has now paid the price with his lucrative £1.7million-a-year job.
Sky had earlier suspended reporter Andy Burton for his role in the second batch of leaked footage.

Like Keys and Gray, who were pulled from Monday night's coverage of Chelsea win at Bolton, Burton has stood down from his broadcasting duties for Wednesday's Carling Cup semi-final second leg between Birmingham and West Ham.
The new footage - recorded on Saturday before Wolves played Liverpool - shows Gray in conversation with Burton, who describes Massey as a 'bit of a looker' in reference to comments made by another member of the production team.
Burton begins: 'He says she is all right. Now I don't know if I should trust his judgment on that. Gray replies: 'Nah, I wouldn't. I definitely wouldn't.'
A crew member then refers to her again and Gray is heard saying: 'I can see her from here. What do women know about the offside rule?'

As well as making more disparaging remarks about Massey, Keys said: 'Did you hear charming Karren Brady this morning complaining about sexism. Do me a favour, love.'
Beleaguered pair Keys and Gray were already fighting to keep their jobs following unacceptable comments about assistant referee Sian Massey and West Ham vice-chairman Karren Brady, which created a storm of protest even before sister channel Sky News provided more damning evidence.
A Sky Sports spokesman said on Monday night: 'They have not been sacked. Sky News are entitled to broadcast what they want and we don't interfere. Their material is being treated as part of the same issue about which we have already made our position very clear.'

:mad::mad::mad::mad::mad: JOKE. ABSOLUTE JOKE

I dont see ITV sacking everyone on Loose Women for making sexist comments every day of the week

There is going to be an uproar. Andy Gray is a Legend.

For example, The Big Bang Theory is on E4 every week, and they're racist in nearly every episode. Like you said, Loose Women being sexist. There's nothing wrong with someone voicing their ipinion and I think he's been sacked under false pretences.

Don't agree lalala, the fact the lass got a difficult decision spot on shows she knows the offside rule better than most other assistants out there anyway! Be interesting to see if the beeb and itv will be falling over each other to sign him up now he's out of sky.

Do you like andy gray? I find him a bit annoying (of course he's a million times better than the crap on the football league show!). Wonder if Keys is going to get the boot as well.

This issue now had dipped into the politically correct argument since she they commented on her being a 'looker'. The focus seems to be taken away from the fact that she got all the decisions spot on during that game. We've had some rubbish officials up the Ricoh this season who change their flag direction if it doesn't agree with the referee's so who is to comment on someone's ability to understand football based on gender. Sian Massey is no longer allowed to referee her match tonight due to the uproar surrounding those derogatory comments made by Gray and Keys. Its hard enough for women to be encouraged into sport. I think the sacking wont help anything to be on honest just make Sky feel good about themselves. Lets hope he's not replaced by Manish from footie league show.

Don't agree lala? I haven't posted anything yet...

Well I think Sky were probably waiting for something like this to happen - Gray is a shit commentator!! Bet they were glad to jump at any old excuse to get rid - he's utter garbage and chats shit!!!

On the whole subject of officials - I thought Amy Fearne was the best ref I've ever seen at the Ricoh, much better then the bloke she replaced anyway!!

I think this is PC gone mad. Sounds like Gray was having a bit of bant, and the resulting media uproar has cost him his job.
More Jamie Redknapp on sky... eugh what an awful thought.

It is PC gone mad. It really is.

I think Gray must have annoyed somebody for all of the off air footage to appear like that ;)

The story was worse than that Rich. She got home only to find that her back door had been smashed in!

I heard Jamie Redknapp had tried to escape through the back window but got stuck and when they got home they found him "hanging out the back"?
