Coventry Arena to Coventry (4 Viewers)

Hello all, QPR fan in peace here. Myself and some others are coming to the game on Saturday but are having trouble finding our route back to Coventry Station from the ground after the game.

Our train back to London is booked for 6.10 which I'm fearing might now be a bit early given the distance from the ground. I've seen there are no trains from Coventry arena immediately after the game and I'm struggling to see if there's a bus route? I've assumed a cab might be the best bet.

Any advice on this would be hugely appreciated, as too would away pub suggestions nearer the ground.

Good luck for the rest of the season after Saturday!

6.10pm should be fine.

There are buses that do go from the shopping arena next door, but some of them do go all around the houses a bit.

If you wanted to get the bus, then best to get on the Foleshill Road, which is just behind the shopping complex. Those buses are very regular and go directly to the city centre.

Taxi is probably best though. It's about 20 mins and should be around £11ish.

Taxi or an Uber is your best bet - there won't be any trains from Coventry Arena to Coventry station. Getting away from the stadium to the station has been a shitshow since day one. You'll make it back for a 6:10 train no problem though.

You’ll have just over an hour to get to station best bet is taxi traffic Go to Tesco and there s a taxi rank by the bus stops. Should do it by 6
Behind the main Tesco entrance. Or go the same route and go past taxis and catch a bus no 20. Then 6 furlongs to the station if you ask for directions!

Taxi is the best bet to the ground but most away fans get the rail replacement back after the game.

Go to Tesco, grab yourself a meal deal and a leisurely stroll around, come outside having missed the big rush and grab an uber from outside Tesco front door.

As for away pubs there aren’t that many boozers around the ground the Wheatsheaf on the Foleshill Road is our knuckle dragger pub so best to stay away. Away fans do use the Engine on Longford Road which is a continuation of the Foleshill Road easy to get to on the 20, Bedworth, 20b, Longford or any of the 48s a,b or c. going to Bedworth or Nuneaton don’t get the 56 Nuneaton goes off away from stadium. But I’d use taxi from the station about 12 quid.

There are a few Wetherspoons in the City centre, it might be best to drink there and get a cab to the ground.

It must be a new thing then as I've caught the train near enough every game.

Been doing it this season at least, every time I’ve looked to get the train from Bedworth it’s been cancelled and replaced with a bus.

No they haven't, trains to the stadium run right up to about 15 minutes before kick off, then there's one immediately after arriving at the arena around 3:10. Then the first train after the game is about 5:20. Now it's 6:20.

I looked about three times at the start of the season and they ran at half past every Saturday except when we’re at home.

Number 20 bus is your best bet, leaves from across the road of the bus depot by the wheatsheaf to get to town which leaves you near the station, if you want to get to the CBS it’s the 20 (A or B works too) towards Longford or Bedworth and get off opposite the wheatsheaf 👍🏼

I’m not sure when it stopped but the service between Nuneaton and Coventry isn’t running at any point of the week. It’s always rail replacement buses. Good for us as we always seemed to get caught at that bloody level crossing at Hawkesbury!

The rail replacement buses are basically shuttles currently. Away fans fill them. Derby had about 5 bus loads full.
