I'm still isolating, now 8 days after symptom onset but still showing faint positive line on LFT.
My symptoms which were very mild went away by Tuesday/Wednesday so I'm just sat at home getting fatter.

I had forgotten about that tbh.
It could well be declining to be fair, but they’ve decided to intentionally fudge the figures.
All I know is that at work we have 20 teachers off with Cov-ID and we’ve had 1 year group learning remotely since we went back to school.

Tested positive this morning. Feels like no more than a mild cold atm. Hopefully it stays that way.

Oops I’m sorry yes
Thanks for asking. He's still in hospital and not in a good way.

Its not an easy situation as the hospital isn't allowing visitors so you're reliant on brief phone calls with doctors if you're lucky enough to be able to get hold of one. If he does survive this and come out they are saying he will need several months of care to recover from the impact of what this has done to him but of course there's nowhere suitable that has places available.

Edit: just to update, spoken to the doctor this morning and its not good news. Said while he is recovering from covid and that won't kill him the damage it has done means we're looking at him only having 6-12 months to live.

Now talking about removing all restrictions in March - it’s almost like they’re trying to distract from something else.

That's what all this bollocks about getting the navy to patrol the channel was about, just a distraction.
They'd normally have had Farage down on the beach pointing at them but hes involved himself in an Australian immigration wrangle the utter pellet.

Just watching Warship, life at sea on channel 5. Amazing seeing what the Royal Navy actually does and watching what they’re doing the only people who can possibly benefit from the Royal Navy concentrating on the channel to stop some dinghy’s is the Russians.

Whilst I agree there's an element of 'ooo look over there' to it

I don't see any reason wy we cannot get back to pre-2020 life from spring onwards. Whoever needs to be jabbed is, Omicron is now dominant and a lot milder than previous strains and people know how to mitigate things an have changed behaviours when feeling ill

I think were almost there

Would you lock down the border then?

Apart from none of the recent variants have evolved from the other.

How's that related to what I said?

It is never ever going to be zero cases of COVID.

The reporting also needs to change from with and within 28 days to people going to hospital because of COVID and dying because of COVID.

Everyone wants it to be over but unless you lock the borders, how do you keep out new variants?

Do we want too? Being as each variants gotten progressively milder, playing devils advocate, maybe getting the variants in isn't as bad as people think

Clearly your main priority is making yourself feel better, so best to leave it.

As opposed to being petrified about something that there is about 0.03% chance of killing me?

There’s a middle ground between these positions. Personally still think if you’re not ill you shouldn’t be staying away from school or work unless you’re in a care home or the NHS.

I dont see why it cant just be

Normal life can crack on. If you feel ill test and stay away from people.

If you want to take a test before attending a concert, or football game etc, do it. Not mandatory.

We have to live with this
