Surely time to honour ‘Der Kaiser’ with this classic Proclaimers and Hibs song. Just the chorus part:

Whiiiiile the chief
Puts sunshiiiiine on Sheaf
I thank him
For his work
And your birth
And my biiiiirth
Yeah yeah yeah yeah yeahhhhhhh

Tweak or ignore as suitable

Can’t outdo the originals, heard it at Easter Road a number of times. Still a classic though and easy to do even for the coked up contingent

To the tune of Nick Nack Paddy whack:

Sheaf is here, Sheaf is there, Sheaf is fucking everywhere, we signed the boy from Arsenal, now he lives in Willenhall.

When Hibs sung that at Hampden Park after a cup final win over Rangers in 2016 it makes you shudder, great anthem!
Edit
Sorry CBS16 didn't see you'd posted the actual clip, yes one of the best definitely!

Could do your Sheafs all over to the tune of Glad all over …. I’m feeling Boom boom…Sheaf all over
As for Hyam the one and only…. No idea what tune you could fit to that Rob 😬

That’s brilliant. I’m no song writer but just to join in the fun:

To the tune of Ring of Fire by Johnny Cash.

We all said Ben-Sheaf was shite,
Now he’s fucking dynamite.

Got the boy from Arsenal,
Now he lives in Willenhall!

long way home

Could do the complete chorus

While I'm worth
My room onnnnn this earth

Ben is the chief
Puts sunshiiiiine on Sheaf
We thank him
For his work
For his class
And his worthhhhhh

Yeah yeah yeah yeah yeahhhhhhh

Be brilliant to hear thousands signing that.

Funny story. When I was little, I only ever heard the Eric Burden and the Animals version and I thought it was actually THEIR song, as did my brothers. We all loved it. Then, suddenly, on the radio one day, we heard this other version, the Johnny Cash original version and we all burst out laughing. We thought it was the funniest, most ridiculous thing ever and a send-up.

The Animals version is a lot heavier, rockier and intense.

Like the Sunshine on Leith.

To: my old man's a dustman

'Ben Sheaf in the middle
Ben Sheaf in attack
Ben Sheaf winning headers
And Ben Sheaf at the back
He never takes a shot, 'cos we all know that he'll miss
But when it comes to football
He takes the f*cking piss.
Like it.

What about a minor tweak....

Ben Sheaf in the middle
Ben Sheaf in attack
Ben Sheaf winning headers
And Ben Sheaf at the back
He never goes for shooting, 'cos we fear that he will miss
But when it comes to passing
He takes the f*cking piss.

I like that Proclaimers song and always thought it could make a good signature type song like Twist and Shout has but songs about individual players for tend to be bloody corny we seem to have three currently do we need another ? Not for me.

The more, the better for me, and when we sell, Hamer, Vik and Ohare this week, oh and Shipley we're left with no songs 🤔

Excellent tune, and he really deserves a song.

The Proclaimers released it when Hibs and Hearts were subject to a merger to make a Edinburgh "Super Club" to challenge the big Clubs like Rangers and Rangers.
I believe all sales of the single went into a Save the Hibs fund.
Wow! I’d not heard about the merger before…or if I had I’d forgotten about it. People have some really shit ideas in football some times.
