Ohare is a luxury we dont need according to lots of people on here. If ever it was needed, last night showed how important he is to our system and style of play. Until he came on we had near on zero link up around their box.

That’s more because Allen and Shipley are poor than O’Hare is some unique talent though. No one who’s been frustrated with O’Hare has been advocating putting Shipley in instead.

The thing about Shipleys last 3 performances is why has it taken almost to the end of his contract for him to start playing well again? I didn't see the first half so I guess he had a decent game in all and unlucky not to score when the ball arrived quickly to him and it either hit the defender or goalie for a corner but I am really gassed that Viktor has found the back of the net again, the look of relief on him was majestic, great 3 points and good to see Waggie back again. I think O'hare running at a tired defence was great too even though he had his usual 'can't hit the target shot' although to be fair it wasn't an easy chance

I thought it really showed the difference in quality when O'Hare came on compared to Shipley. Despite the latter doing fine.
Just one part of Shipleys games that is miles ahead is that he has a great left foot and has the ability to score. Everything else Ohare wins hands down.

Off the bench as an impact sub might be his best position for the next t few games, there's no doubting the lad has quality and great energy, but his lack goals is a concern. If he can address that, then he will be a premier league player, but at the moment he can be as frustrating as watching Huckerby being flagged offside used to be.

I said in another post that they had a couple of spells of sustained possesion which never would have happened with O'Hare on the pitch

Agreed he has the ability to score but Shipley snapped at a few shots yesterday and did similar on Saturday.

While he might be better at finishing, he still misses plenty of chances. As does Allen.

I don’t “get” him. Doesn’t beat a man, not great defensively, has a good cross but doesn’t seem to want to take up positions where he’ll receive it and whip one in. I do like that he arrives back stick though, been one of my bugbears about our wingbacks.
He’s played over 300 games in this league in teams that generally make the playoffs. But given your past judgement you saying someone is shit bodes well

I am pretty sure it was. He can do amazing things like that, such as that amazing headed goal last season from outside the box.

I think Pete was referring to Clive’s comment Herts. Outrageous bit of skill. Just need more goals from him and rest of midfield (ohare and sheaf) as the talent is there
