Our ability in the final 3rd is almost laughable. It must be great being an opposition supporter watching their team play us, knowing full well they dont have to worry too much about us scoring.
We were never going to go up this season but we are so close and today just about rams home that we are in my opinion the best football side in this league but the worst at converting chances created.

Robins knows what’s needed next season so let’s enjoy this season and wait for another improvement next season.

You can tell when our 2nd teir are in just lack a bit of creativity but still created enough to Bury them. Problem is the likes of O'hare and Hamer need a rest now but when they aren't on the pitch we are still less of a team than they are when tired.

We're having an incredible season really, we've come on leaps and bounds from last season, and the play offs are still within our own hands (though I don't think, and have never thought we'd reach them), but if we want to kick on we really need investment in players who can make a difference in the final 3rd, its as simple as that for me.

Better team against both QPR and Boro but 0 points.

we had a good first quarter but it’s gradually dropped off. You are right we need some investment, not that much either but the margins are fine

We have needed a goal scorer for the last few seasons Mcnulty filled a gap then fucked off.

It's more we just know the owners would rather keep charging £2 million in interest payments than add it to the budget

It’s that midfield is the problem area. Perhaps robins changes the style next season and gets a couple of less technical players in to bring in a few goals from
Midfield?

I wonder how much is just the mentality of a better quality player. Shipley can strike a ball better than almost anyone in the squad but when the big chance came today he shanked it woefully. Composure in the big moments is a tough thing to teach.

Shipley has missed 5/6 big chances since his return to the team.

The majority of which weren't fouls but he should have been a bit more streetwise to their play acting

We've played in every corner of this country up and down the league's in the last 5 or so years and Robins has watched other teams do this.

As he continues to say, we aren't 'streetwise' to it.

We are too soft. Gyökeres has to considering going down when he's being dragged about. We need to surround the referee when O'Hare is being kicked to pieces.

Also, Allen IS an athlete. 😉
Mean more in terms of strength and speed not stamina. You can see what he's trying to do and it's usually the right decision but his body can't pull it off. He was good today but lil things like that costing us goals I think. Not just from him of course. All over pitch lacking bit of quality that makes the difference sometimes.

Watched with a Middlesbrough fan, said we were the better team until their goal.

A few poor performances in the final third I though my but we did enough to win or at least draw.

Might be because I had to watch on Ifollow today (the camera adds 10 pounds?) but Hamer looked like the last thing he needs is rest. He needs a treadmill, looked overweight.

Just had a look at the Boro forum, very complimentary, saying we’re the best team to play at their stadium! They were v. impressed with O’Hare and they want to give us a blank cheque for Gyokeres in the summer.

It’s our 2nd season in the Championship with one of the smallest budgets. Being in the top half is a dream because for me, it’s about staying up.

It was about staying up until a few months in when it is as clear we are better than the majority of the teams in this division.

Yep, their phone in was the same.

All of them shocked how the won. All saying O'Hare and Gyökeres tore them to pieces etc.

We hear the same most weeks.

He must have run close to 40km in a week

Not sure mate , we've got 2 of the top 10 goalscorers in the league playing upfront .. we need goals from all over not just them

Problem is we lack a cutting edge. I thought Fadz’s shot was in. Eccles, O’Hare and maybe JCS should have scored today.

Just to temper what’s possible with that in your legs
Yeah but that would mean he's fast when rested which he isn't

I'm not having a go Pete. Just talking about the stuff that seoerates us from the rest perhaps. Allen knocks it past someone he might not get on end of it. He is a good player tho and we still cud be top 6 so credit to him for being part of that. I still think we are in for a good month points wise

Here's Nick on CWR, giving us his view of the match from New Street Station.
We had one caller talking about a change to the system but didn’t really know why we should go to another system and another one…. Oh my giddy aunt…. On about robins putting up some sign in the changing room about getting back at the other team? All very bizzare and although everyone has a right to air their opinion there callers shouldn’t be allowed live on air as their getting ridiculed.
