Do these fucking idiots in charge not learn? We got relegated last time from the championship because they refused to invest and let us tread water before falling through the trap door. Now we have been down to complete rock bottom and by a miracle are back where we started, and they are making the same mistakes all over again.

How are we treading water?

I posted this screenshot a few pages back but look at the bench last January. We've improved immensely and I'd bet the bench in another year's time will be better again.

People are clueless if they think SISU have any interest in the footballing side whatsoever.

We are one business, in a portfolio of assets they own. They aren’t even bothered if we make a profit, not all investments are there to make a profit, some are loss leaders so they can offset their tax liabilities.

We aren’t even a first, second or third thought in their mind. They have no need to sell us and we have no potential whilst they own us.

Not Walsh.

Was gutted we didn't get him in the summer but have heard since then Bristol let him leave because he's crocked. Can do a bit here and there but long term injury concerns too much.
Yeh you have to say he’s done nothing since he left us, injury or no injury, it’s time to move on…

Disappointing not getting a attacking loan in but at least we have made inroads in clearing unneeded players. I do worry a bit about lack of numbers in the squad given the COVID situation and several injuries. Need to hope Eccles stays fit as we have no cover at RWB with Dabo and Kane injured and Dacosta and Rowe off on loan.

Kane is fit now and I think Dabo is at most a couple of weeks away

Ok so we aren’t going to lose anyone by the looks of it which is great.

Can’t help but feel slightly angry/deflated we didn’t bring in someone to help Ohare out though. We need goals from midfield, just one player was all that was required. Not exactly asking to break the bank is it??

I know we’re not in the same financial position as the majority of clubs in the league but it does feel like the owners are somewhat taking the piss a bit 👎

It's not crazy at all. Stoke are owned by one of the richest people in the country.

The guy that assisted Boro's goal at the weekend is on 40k/week.

If people stop comparing us to clubs in a totally different financial league to us they might get a bit of perspective and realise we're actually doing pretty well.
I agree we are doing brilliantly on the pitch. Wasnt comparing us to Stoke at all and wouldnt want us spending 40k a week on a player. What i dont think is unreasonable is having at least 2 attacking midfielders in your squad when you play a formation with 2 attacking midfielders

Quite clever arent they?

Couple of days before deadline 'we've rejected substantial bids'

Gets passed deadline without improving squad

Loads of fans: 'great window managing to hold onto our best players'...

These substantial bids have not been reported anyone else other than Boddy. Robins even dismissed it.

I imagine he knew at that point no one else was coming and used it to try and soften the blow

Getting another LB/LWB in was a welcome move.

Managing to ship out a number of those that aren't going to be around the first team is also good.

But I can't help feel that at least another AM was needed and could have been achieved given the people going out. The squad does look quite sparse going into a period with a lot of games coming in quick succession.

As I said a few days ago I wouldn't have wanted us just to bring someone in solely for the few remaining months of the season as a punt, but be part of the longer term plan.

So, in a bout of optimism/lunacy, I'm hoping this money saved might allow for a slightly higher budget next season to improve the squad.

(Due to that last comment and the fact I can't react to my own posts.)

We have made a permanent signing in the window in Jake Bidwell most of our championship rivals have only made loans tells me money or lack of it is still a real issue below the prem. I’d have loved a provern acm added to our midfield options didn’t happen but we have young Eccles looking to be a good part of our midfield was very impressed with him the last two games so hopefully that’s a plus.

We have got shut of a number of “deadwood” loans out good work but remember they could come back.

More important for me is we haven’t shipped any of our top players out keeps us still a decent team with a chance of play-offs.
