Buried that one when he was offside in the first half as well. Just confidence. Also I’m not making excuses for our players but Robins was saying pitch wasn’t/isn’t good so the odd shank or miss kick has got to be expected

Midfield as a whole needs to chip in far more though and Rose and Hyam need to be better at set pieces…Rose free header first half was poor. JCS doesn’t appear to get on the end of many either…strange as he’s a powerful lad

We were clearly tired as well. I honestly think O’Hares shooting has improved immeasurably recently just without the final result. He’s hitting them much better and getting into better positions now than he was at the start of the season.

4th choice ? Haha brilliant

The only person whose opinion really matters is Robins, and Fadz is fourth choice at the moment. It could change again if any of the 3 drop their standard in matches or in training, and that’s how it should be. At the moment the other 3 are being preferred, rightly so.

Fadz has missed 1 league game since missing a game through covid isolation , presumably as there are several games during this month , not sure how that's him now occupying 4th choice .

I'm hoping fadz comes back in as he's simply better than Rose in the middle of that 3

People talk like he's a disabled child the way they go on about him shooting.

He's a professional footballer, he still struggles to cleanly strike a football towards the goal.

Really? If anything I'd argue he looks scared to shoot now. That being said so does everyone else.

I love O'Hare, and he's one of the first names on the team sheet for me, but I agree with this.

The Blackpool goal on Tuesday came from him having an opportunity to shoot which he didn't take

Yeah, as I edited in my post though it's not just O'Hare. Most of the midfield and forwards are the same. Even Gyokeres takes far too many touches at times when an opportunity arises.

Yeah really. Start of the season he hit every shot like a frail old lady, last few games he’s been hitting decent shots and getting into decent areas and just been unlucky with deflections and saves.

The whole team is trying to pass it into the net right now, that’s a whole other problem.

I think that's reaching. His lack of goals isn't simply down to deflections and saves. It's just not his game.

His shooting has improved ? Today’s game is a stats game as we know and the stats certainly do not back up your claim mate

You don't even have to look at the stats.

If the last game was anything to go by he scored an offside goal after the whistle had already blown and rather than shoot tried to skip through an orange wall of players. Not really sure how that translates into him getting into better positions.

I'm not really interested in digging out O'Hare for something that's not his game but Christ at least call it what it is.

It's a pity Hamer didn't take a touch in the last minute.
It's composure in front of goal that is lacking. Unfortunately that's not easy to correct.

Thats what I mean, he is a professional footballer. He isn't a kid on sports day we should all feel sorry for and say "At least he tried" and "he's getting there".

Im not feeling sorry for him or saying “at least he tried” though. I’m giving my honest opinion on whether there’s signs of improvement.

Assuming OT is on target? But that doesn’t distinguish between a rasping drive to the top corner tipped around and a scuffed backpass to the keeper does it?

On Target yep.
But yes, that's exactly what it is trying to distinguish between.

Often used for evaluating goalkeepers, when they should make saves etc. which is where the 'Goals Prevented' stats come from.

Expected goals on target (or xGOT) measures the likelihood of an on-target shot resulting in a goal, based on the combination of the underlying chance quality (xG) and the end location of the shot within the goalmouth. It gives more credit to shots that end up in the corners than shots that go straight down the middle of the goal.

O'Hare is now hitting the target more often that's what I class as a shot and has improved just the the final step needed now, start beating the keeper Callum.
