What was the point in us sticking with him through 4 years of treatment?

Will he ever start a game?

Not sure he will, wouldn't an insurance policy of covered his wages during the last 4 years, I think he'll move on in the summer

Who do you bring him in for? Kane? O’Hare?

I’d have gave him 15 minutes for O’Hare. Some of the players looked knackered (Sheaf in particular could have brought Allen on for him) after Saturday and fresh legs may have helped. I’m not sure why Jones on the bench every week but rarely gets a look-in making up numbers to cover for an injury I suppose. I agree, I think he might be gone in the summer.

I called the subs before the game but was slightly out - waghorn for Shipley and Bidwell for Maatsen on about 65 minutes. We’re very predictable with the changes.

And Robins whilst I love the bloke complains of tiredness and doesn’t make a third sub I.e jones to bring on some pace at tired Blackpool defenders. It’s baffling really

He doesn't have any pace any more. We've not seen him beat a man yet.

We kept him because he's probably our lowest paid senior Pro in the squad.

We couldn't afford an alternative.

Similar to how we signed Bright. It was a gamble we had to take because he was cheap.

If we didnt have him our bench would be even weaker. Will get some game time i the next few games through inevitable injuries and lack of squad depth

Why didn’t we give him the last 10-15 being as we had tired legs 🤷🏻‍♂️

It’s clear he’s not considered good enough that’s why

I would have probably gave Allen the last 15 over Jodi but agree should have used our full quota of subs. Hes always been reluctant with subs though

The lack of a 3rd sub tonight was baffling. After the 120 min Saturday you could visibly see our levels drop second half. More energy from midfield in the last 15-20 min could of made the difference but no sign of a change. We didn't even have people warming up.

It's a strange one
Only a few weeks ago Robins was praising Jones and saying he could make a difference to the side
Then the lad caught Covid and seems to have been sidelined since, apart from coming on as 5th sub in the last minute at Southampton

Lives by us popular lad locally I know he had a nasty bout of covid recently just after the birth of his daughter so let’s see if he gets back up to speed can take a bit of time I thought before his covid he was doing better but it is a critical time for him admittedly

i like jodi, we all do, but if i am honest his level has always been leaugues 1 & 2, we all know what he has been through, and the club has stuck by him well, but i'm not quite sure he deserves a start. I think the championship maybe a level to much for him.

Hopefully he will get his chance. He looked great in his cameo appearances at Bournemouth and Huddersfield, so not sure why people are writing him off already. He still looks like he has pace too. If he gets more minutes and some starts before the end of the season, and is not up to it, then fair play, it was worth the gamble, as he looked such a good player before his injuries. I don't want to see Shipley in midfield again, being totally anonymous, apart from an odd shot.

I do feel quite sorry for Jodi. This season has so far been a complete waste for him.

Don't really understand what the strategy was with him this season.

But even prior to that there was clearly zero strategy in place for his return to first team football.

In fact rather than put faith in him the club made the ridiculous decision to bring in Bright as understudy to O'Hare. And since Bright has gone Jones still hasn't really featured.

Not really sure why Robins is saying Jones could make a difference when he quite clearly has no plans on playing him.

In hindsight he should've been sent out on loan in January to get him accustomed to first team football again and prepare him for whatever his future holds in the summer - presumably playing football elsewhere.

Think now is the time for Jodi to come in for Shipley.
Yes-if only to see if he can do it at this level as it’s quite clear that Shipley cannot.
Both probably should be shown the door in the summer.

That's the winner of this month's longest and most unpunctuated sentence. Thank you.

I like Jones and see him as a left midfielder option going back some seasons like a Steve Hunt type don’t think he is going to get a chance here to have a run in the team and will have to move somewhere like a Swindon, MK Dons, Shrewsbury and hope he’s a success, think he might.
