Yep, thought Hamer was head and shoulders above everyone yesterday. Baffled how so few seem to have recognised that.

Still a lot on here think he'll never play above this level. Crazy

Moore 7
Kane 5
Bidwell 5
Hyam 7
Rose 7
Jcs 7
Sheaf 6
Hamer 7
Maatsen 6
Ohare 7
Gyokores 7

I have a feeling that Kane might be carrying a knock but is playing as we have nobody else.
Probably our worst performance of the season except for luton but onwards and upwards.
Don't stop him kicking the ball out of play twice when he had a simple ball down the line, maybe he is just tired and lost concentration

My misses thinks he is very good! And she is an excellent judge of players as she is quite quick to verbalise any player who is playing below their best.

Sheaf and Hamer probably the best of a below par bunch yesterday. It is a bit worrying that we are looking tired and a bit sloppy with all these games coming up. If we dont bank a good number of points in february i think it could be a grim slide to the end of the season. Hopefully it was just an off day, plenty of games coming up for us to build momentum if we can sharpen up a bit.

But not unexpected given our paper thin squad.
IfI have one criticism of Robins approach to this month it's that he played a pretty strong team against Saints which he knew had the potential to go to ET.
Should have rested several players in my opinion.

Yeah, squad depth definitely has the potential to cause us some issues now. The real issue is the lack of money made available to build a truly competitive squad. We have a decent team but it falls away quite quickly after that.

Robins fucking baffles me. Obviously he’s done loads for us (just trying to console the people who cry their eyes out at any type of criticism of the bloke), but his decisions at time are bonkers.

Shipley was not good enough at this level in midfield. He gets a shit at LWB because of injuries and circumstance and puts in one of his best performances in a city shirt and scores a worldy. So what does Robins do? Puts him back in midfield where he was never good enough. Not just once, but two games now??What the actual fuck. Surely allen would’ve been a better shout.

Remember the masterclass that was Dabo in CBAnd was it Maatsen over to RWB last week so that Bidwell could come on, and took Kane off?

Just mental sometimes

And will Mark Robins play Shipley in midfield to replace Hamer for the next 2 games ?

Rose is quality, but defensively in the air he no Mcfadz and dorsnt have the strength , was a mis match with Jao. I agree.

What on earth is Rose doing for the opener?
Completely wrong side of João, yes Kane should defend the cross better but it should have been a simple headed clearance from Rose.

This is my concern with Rose since promotion, always seems to have these lapses & picks up niggly injuries whenever it looks like he's going to establish himself.

This is why I would not have him in the side against big brutes. Talentwise ..has the potential to go to the the top. Theres a reason i been harping on about Hyam ahead of all the time and probably why Robin's picks Hyam ALL the time.

If only he was a bit physically stronger he would be potentially be playing in the Premier league. I dont think hes ideally the centre of a back 3. But Hyam doesnt have the distribution to be playing the centre of the 3. I guess that's why we are where we are

I think they were banking on a cup run for extra cash to bring someone else in...sadly the gamble failed

Hyams distribution is sadly very poor the amount of times he goes forward stops and plays it back unless he gives it away with a shite forward pass, having said that he does occasionally put some decent balls forward, he also seems to get beaten when someone is running against him lots of goals against come from the right side but other than that he's a decent defender but if we got promoted he would get mullered ....probably

I think you could probably say Shipley deserved a game or two in his best position after coming into the side and doing well. He's been rubbish since and Allen will play the next game instead of him, but you can understand the decision to give him a go.

As for taking Kane off and putting Maatsen at RWB, Kane was not fit/carrying an injury.

Of our 4 centre backs Hyam completes more passes in the opponents half and more forward passes than the others.

This thing about him having poor distribution is a bit of a myth.

The marking for both headers was horrific not sure how you can blame moore. First goal the player is unmarked between rose and clarke-salter. Second goal maatsen is marking him then stops and let's him jump unopposed.
Rose at fault for the first one. Couldn’t see for the second

Maatsen and Jcs for the missed chance at 3-3

My issue with his distribution is his speed of thought. He holds onto it too long and the opportunity for a quick attacking pass goes and he just has to pass it sideways or backwards. It kills lots of potential quick attacks.

Not when you're watching its not ...but I did say some of the balls he puts forward are decent

I do like Rose but for me his body position is all wrong when the cross comes in, too closed to the rest of the pitch which means he doesn’t know where Joao is and gets a nudge in the back just to ease him out the way. Needs to be slightly more side-on so he can keep track of his man and the ball.

I agree Tom a little like John Stones who dithers on the ball sometimes not that he is anywhere near Stones ability...I said he is decent and been a mainstay for us especially that he was brought in as a development player and he has certainly developed

Based on his LWB performance and subsequent midfield performances, Shipley is a better LWB than he will ever be midfielder

It wasn’t last season, he was dreadful. He’s massively upped his game this season TBF but still has the odd clanger in him.

It wasn’t last season, he was dreadful.

The stats say otherwise though

He was a fraction lower (0.4%) than Fadz on pass completion and comfortably ahead of Ostigard.

Made more forward passes per game than Fadz and Osti.

Just 0.1 less passes in opponents half than Osti, and comfortably ahead of Fadz.
