It's gone a little quiet on the new striker front. Anyone heard anything?

Probably McGoldrick.

Would rather a winger but not complaining if we sign a half decent striker. Preferably one without injury history unlike all our others

We desperately need another centre forward who is a goalscorer. Successful teams have at least 3 prolific scorers. We have Cody and ... er ... a few chipping in, possibly Fleck, Elliott, Ball or Sheff will chip in with a good number.
It will not be enough, though. Cody and one other must score 20ish. None of the above will do that IMO

Steve Carpenter, the guy that broke the McGoldrick story, has tweeted saying that he now thinks its a no-goer

I reckon 80 goals for auto and about 65 for play offs
My prediction atm Is this (roughly)
Cody- 20
Ball and Elliot combined - 20
Fleck - 10 (takes pens)
Rest of midfield - 20
defence- 10
That's 80. Obviously it's pressure on players do another won't go a miss but clearly not short staffed imo

Can see Elliott scoring more than Cody ............

Yeah I posted that earlier, that was a cracking finish and he just looks class all-round. Once fully fit he'll be even better.

I think what you get with Elliott is the work ethic that goes to make a proper striker .I remember Rush worked his socks off to get his chances and keep the defence on its toes , Rooney does much the same .Elliott will never be in there class but he shows desire and wants to make chances and in this division that will count for a lot ,i said over a week ago i think he will be our top scorer this year and wont be far off the top scorer in the division
