Just been informed by my source that paul robinson has just walked into the changing rooms at ryton about half hour ago. He couldn't confirm if he was signing, but what else is he doing ? Free agent left back ! :)

Maybe he's bought a season ticket to watch the flowing football at the Ricoh. I got shown round the changing rooms last season when I got mine.

Hmm, you're pretty good with these things. I hate him, with a passion. But I think he'd be bloody good in this league - as long as he manages to stay on the pitch.

On a slightly related note. I thought Hussey was good on Tuesday. I would expect any deal to be cheap and short term (or Husseys off of course)

As long as he is given time to gel, I don't see the problem.

And Healy as well -- could be 30 games in before we show our true potential.

Would be a decent signing, experienced, solid Left back (and CB cover), I think he'd be brought in as cover for Hussey if we get him imo.

... Or this is Hussey's replacement

33 years old - has he got the legs? Playing alongside Kilbane down the left it would be like Jurassic Park. Story makes some sense as he's a free agent with lots of experience and would provide cover for Hussey. As long as he's not a replacement for Hussey it would be a good move but fear knowing our ambitious owners we will be selling Hussey for an undisclosed fee (57p and a bag of sherbet lemons)

Without being too cruel and inevitably about to incur some wrath - I would say that is about Hussey's true worth.

With Iron Bru for add-ons

Football is a game of opinions - thats why we love it - and personally I think Hussey has a lot of potential. No way will he ever be a Premiership player but he's more than good enough at this or Championship level. Like I said its a game of opinions - I cannot abide Sheff but some worship the ground he stands on (cant say walks on as that would require effort on his par and havent witnessed that for years)

Good signing if we get him, during pre season those who went to the majority of the Freindlies said Hussey wasn't playing to well and he was also poor against daggers and Yeovil with his aimless booting of the ball, saying that he improved second half v Sheffield

I just think Hussey is too big for a full back. On Tuesday we must have had the 2 tallest full backs in the league. He is restrict mobility wise and can get caught defensively. Sadly on his second stint I have to agree on McSheffery.

Wow now I've heard it all on Hussey.

Too slow, not good enough defensively, can't pass, can't tackle - heard all that (unfairly) - but too big? FFS.

To me he lacks mobility and does not look comfortable on the ball at all. He often gets caught on the wrong side of the forward he is marking. He does not look natural as a Full Back. Robinson if signing will be playing I would think.

Wow, just googled him to have a bit of a look and the Wikipedia fairy has been at it again apparently he has already signed. Tbh he would probably shine at this level if he does come here.

Lynch has 100% record so far. The only question is why he was there.

If I remember him correctly he has a corking left foot. For free kicks corners etc. Our boys will lap that up. I also think he was a hard man and dirty bugger.

To me it means Hussey is off.

I like Hussey but I now accept that any cash offers will be accepted, as long as we can replace them. Then that is the way it has to be.

Lynchy knows his stuff. Great signing if that's why he's there, although I do have a story about him that implies he's a bit of a wazzock.

Just spoke with my Bolton supporting mate who has a season ticket. He says that Robinson was now too slow tends to be poor in a positional sense in the Premier League. But this was more because he was up against very good, very fast wingers and so would tuck in to the centre back as not to expose the gap between them. Thinks he would do a good job in league one if he had a fit/quick wide man in front of him and would not be the best for getting up and down the wing (Doesn’t sound good for the diamond formation). He also stated that he long ball distribution is poor. He also said he is a horrible to play against and is a real B***ARD (tell me something we don’t know) and a real fans favourite and he is so committed. If Hussey isn’t going then would be a good backup/replacement and might make the difference in those difficult away games where we need to keep shape.

Quite possibly one of the dirtiest players I've seen! I remember him chopping Mifsud in half twice at their place!
