Preston presenting a different opposition for us today. Not afraid to commit bodies forward, we've got a lot less time on the ball than we're used to

Needs at least one of our strikers to start playing as a striker if we're going to get 3 points out of this. We're neat and tidy but no-one is pulling their backline out of shape and they're just sitting relatively deep and remaining well organised. Wingbacks are doing their job well in terms of getting high up the pitch but it's almost been a 3-2-5-0 formation at times when in possession.

We were good for 25 then they should have really gone ahead. Waghorn is in very poor form! Gyokeres is more isolated with him there than when he’s up front on his own. Lots of poor passing in the last 15 from everyone especially Hamer. Moore two very very good saves

Pretty average half. We controlled first 20 minutes but since then Preston have probably just edged it. We look impotent in attack, and vulnerable to Preston on the counter. Funny game, no one is playing poorly individually, but the team don't seem to be able to get out of second gear.

Would probably switch to a box for the second half, get a better hold in midfield and put Waggy out his misery

they’ve created 3 clear chances now and they are tearing Hyam apart
I didn't say they were shit, just boring.

It's exactly the sort of style that will keep you away from relegation but rarely threaten the top and exactly why they've been in this league since the T-Rex was knocking about.

Attacking wise it isn't really working, but not a terrible performance so far by any means.

Waghorn and O'Hare hasn't clicked and they've both been wasteful.

They had the best chances, Moore pulled a great save.

We started okay, they got back into it.

Gyokeres very subdued, COH having a poor game by his standards.

Sheaf and Hamer doing okay but the former was guilty of slowing the play down on a counter when I didn't think was necessary.

We've barely created a clear cut chance whereas they've had at least 2 and Moore has kept us in it.

Want to see Dabo for Waghorn, Kane on the left, Dabo running at their lad on a yellow. Maatsen (who is having a decent game at LWB) moved to AM.

Preston are scared to touch O'hare, been numerous times they could've gone through him but stood off. Need to use that more second half

Allen for Waghorn please.

They've taken Hamer out of the game. Stuck a man on him from thows/g kicks and as soon as we get the ball. He resorted to drifting wide to look for the ball and getting us out of shape.
Very tight on ohare too.
Usual free flow through middle has been nullified due to those two tactical aspects from Preston.
They have looked dangerous going forward too. Decent around box and good movement too.

Waghorn has been ineffective I'm afraid. Gyokeres too, but I would bring Allen on to help press and help out O'Hare. Preston are a difficut side and I fear on the break they could hurt us. Looks like McFaz on the bench is a poor decision for us as we need organization at the back where we look disjointed at times when under pressure.
We need to change it but not sure how we can do that given the bench.
