Quite possibly one of the dirtiest players I've seen! I remember him chopping Mifsud in half twice at their place!

He is the one then, a good footballer but a real nasty bar steward.

He will be an asset but we will need cover for him. He will pick up a lot of suspensions and injuries due to his age and style of play.

Malaga and wood will score loads from his set pieces.

How can he be good at set piece play but struggle with long ball distribution?

Just spoke with my Bolton supporting mate who has a season ticket. He says that Robinson was now too slow tends to be poor in a positional sense in the Premier League. But this was more because he was up against very good, very fast wingers and so would tuck in to the centre back as not to expose the gap between them. Thinks he would do a good job in league one if he had a fit/quick wide man in front of him and would not be the best for getting up and down the wing (Doesn’t sound good for the diamond formation). He also stated that he long ball distribution is poor. He also said he is a horrible to play against and is a real B***ARD (tell me something we don’t know) and a real fans favourite and he is so committed. If Hussey isn’t going then would be a good backup/replacement and might make the difference in those difficult away games where we need to keep shape.

He strikes me as a massive c&@t!

Sign him up!!

Couldn't agree more. We need to be c*$nts in this league, take absolutely no crap. If the rumour's true and he wasn't just there to see a mate or something (can anyone think of any of our players he may know?) then sign him up!

Players he might know (personally!) of ours: Kilbane? Think Kilbane was probably gone by the time Robinson joined Albion, same with Murphy.

I've always hated him as a player. But would love it if he signed. He is a nasty piece of work and that is something this club has severely lacked over the years. He's someone who is in the refs ear for 90mins and winds players up. He smashes into players and is very intimidating. Would love him at LB to be honest

I suppose from a dead ball he is playing it without pressure from other players and can aim for an area rather than trying to pick out a player from open play with a moving ball.

Got to say, I thought bakers set pieces the other day were decent. And no, I didn't think he was awful either.

Well he did take the 1 corner we managed in the whole 90 minutes.

Toronto FC have reportedly pulled out of the race to sign former Bolton Wanderers defender Paul Robinson.

The 33-year-old, who spent last season on loan at Leeds United, had been expected to complete a move to the MLS club this week.

However, according to Sky Sports News, the Canadian club have pulled out of the race to sign the experienced defender.

A host of Championship clubs reportedly remain in the race.

I havent got a clue about his long ball distribution. I just remember for wba his free kicks be it crosses or shots were really dangerous.

Strong left footed whipped balls.

I also just remember him been an annoying dirty bugger.

I could be wrong but didn't Mifsud get sent off for elbowing this guy a few years back? Then in the corresponding fixture away from home he almost chopped him in half. I don't like him, he scares me!

I just think Hussey is too big for a full back. On Tuesday we must have had the 2 tallest full backs in the league. He is restrict mobility wise and can get caught defensively. Sadly on his second stint I have to agree on McSheffery.

Too big to be a full-back? WTF.....

I would be surprised if we get him. I would think he would still be in demand above League 1 level.

Yeah ,thats what I was thinking.Mifsud gave him the chokeslam !!! Then Dowd did that reverse walk across the pitch ,playing it for the Oscar ,allegedly did'nt talk to the fourth official who had seen it on the screen,I swore it was a clean challenge at the time and went berzerk when he sent him off but TV unfortunately proved otherwise .Sign him up ,Husseys replacement for sure .He's shit any way ,or will be when he's gone ,Really!!!!?????

The fact that most people don't like Robinson is because he has a nasty streak and is gobby on the pitch

Exactly what we need.....................

Yes indeed. I mean look at Maicon and Maldini. They struggled as tall full backs.

His sense of balance is poor. He does not look co-ordinated - he looks unbalanced and ill at ease when in possession. Robinson is clearly better and too good for us I think.

Yeah, but everybody who's said that has said he would be perfect also... Me included!

Robinson could quite possibly be the pivitol signing (if he was there for that purpose - remember Lynch hasn't said that, it's just our interpretation of it). For me had adds that extra know-how and won't take being second best. He's a born winner who gives his all and expects others to do the same. Oh, and if he gets booed by the crowd he has no problem offering the culprits out.

Anyone remember Dennis Wise? Nasty little shit on the pitch! Change our club! Not saying Robinson will have the same effect but he might bring the little but of fight our players need to have instilled into them

on the left back note, how on earth did Ian Harte managed to go as far down as League Two before coming back into the prem
