Hussey's only 5tt 10 thats hardly tall - Kyle walker is 5ft 10, glen Johnson is 6ft, Gary Neville 5ft 11, Micah Richards is 5ft 11

Is that the same site that lists Jordan Clark as 6 foot?

Robinson could quite possibly be the pivitol signing (if he was there for that purpose - remember Lynch hasn't said that, it's just our interpretation of it). For me had adds that extra know-how and won't take being second best. He's a born winner who gives his all and expects others to do the same. Oh, and if he gets booed by the crowd he has no problem offering the culprits out.

I remember the season when Eric Black was in charge and we brought in Martin Grainger for a month on loan from Birmingham. Old fashioned, hard full back with a bit of experience. He galvanized the back four and helped bring the best out in Calum Davenport. I think Robinson could have a similar effect on one or two around him if we were to bring him in.

It's also on soccerbase and espn....I know what you mean about the ccfc tape measure - McPake was never 6ft 2!

Back to Robinson - all 5 foot 9 of him - do you think he would sign for us? Despite age looks a bit good for us.

He's a bit of a character and experienced, my only worry is how much impact of not having a pre season would have on a player of his age, when you think about how Cody struggled last season.

I see the "not had a pre season" thing as a pathetic excuse. Many players just get on with it and get match fit.

But that's the point Rich - getting match fit and sharp through playing competative games. If pre season doeant mean anything, why does every club do it instead of turning up just before the first game of the season? It gives you a base fitness, which is vital for injury prevention. How long did it take King to get sharp? Herman looked off of the pace and got injured after a couple of games, as did Cody. Some players can get away with it, Some dont.

Di Canio cut short Zavon Hines trial because his fitness was already too far behind the rest of his squad.

Paul robinson is training with us to get fit ! ... Been told that he is unlikely to sign for cov. Hopefully he may be pursuaded if we can string a few wins together over the next week or so.

I would like him to sign.
If unlikely though lets not involve him in any part of the training that gives him the opportunity to injure anyone.

Hussey isnt terrible, he needs more support down that side however! We need to address the wide midfield roles as a priority over this...

Couldn't he sign a 1month contract whilst looking for a club? It would help us out and also help him with his fitness. Pompey have been signing players on a 1 month contract. There again there seems to be different rules for them.

Why would we want to pay someone that's not fit though?

We're already paying half the squad on this basis, so can't take any more on!!

Sod that, he will injure half the squad!

I presume they think he may enjoy it and stick around.

Money talks though so that won't happen.

Isn't some money better than no money? 2k a week soon mounts up.....as long as we could afford that much.

Why are we training players up that have no intention of joining if we have a threadbare budget? Surely its an extra cost that we don't need? Next thing you'll be telling me Sammy Clingan is still training with us.
