Honestly think that was as good as any Coventry performance from a player I've seen at the Ricoh.
A joy to watch. Literally tore them to shreds.
Hamer is better with a player of his quality alongside.

I'm chuffed for the lad, but when you see what he can do today, and the difference between that and what he normally offers, surely people acknowledge the difference don't they? It's not trying to be deliberately argumentative, but whilst I can understand why some people are now getting carried away in the other direction, I think some posts here lack overall perspective across the whole season.
No one has wanted him to fail, most people appreciate his efforts but have just seen him get into the final third and choke over again, and see it as a major frustration. If anything the second half performance today was light and day in that sense compared to even the first half. To want to see that more often is surely a good thing isn't it?
He was unplayable when he did actually score, and that confidence is a massive tool for him as a player clearly. I'm sure he knows that himself and I really hope this can be a step for him to be able to kick on from. He was taking players on, making brave passes which were coming off, and he also started shooting more. The combination of him and Gyökeres had the Sheff Utd defence on toast and by the end you could see that they didn't want to be there at all.
I know this post will probably get a few laughing emojis, but football is a game of opinions, and without differences between them it would be fucking boring with everyone just agreeing with each other all the time. He has surely set the standard for himself today, and I'm sure anyone that has criticised him in the past will be very happy to be proved wrong every week if it sees him improve as a player, and that also in turn sees us improve as a team.

Irrespective of today and encompassing the whole season so far, O’Hare has never been a fucking burden. With a few exceptions, he’s consistently been one of our best players, even when the team hasn’t performed well.
The whole premise of this thread is ludicrous at best.

Those who watched Oggy play, will know he was a great keeper. He was a fantastic shot stopper, was brave and commanded his area really well. He saved us so many times. The one thing he wasn't so hot on was crosses and he was known to flap quite a lot at times and make a mess of them, either not palming them away properly, or even missing the ball completely. Still an excellent keeper though.
O'Hare has great awareness, a fantastic engine, is very clever and a tricky player.
The one thing he is not good at is shooting.
Just because his shooting is poor, that doesn't nullify all the other great qualities he has.
He is clearly one of the best players we have at the club and pundit, after pundit, after pundit, are always singing his praises and saying what a really good player he is.

Anyone who thinks or contributes that COH is a burden need to take a good hard look at themselves, yesterday showed what I’ve been saying for weeks get better players with him and he’ll deliver every week. For the first time for weeks we fielded perhaps our best team, fit, none being less than an eight out of ten and after admittedly a slowish all round start once we equalised we ripped what was the current best team on form in the division apart, should of been 4-1 up at half-time and ended up with nine or ten, 27 shots apparently.
This result and performance wasn’t a surprise to me in my opinion opinion we should be an absolute minimum of 10 points better off. Ten games left, all winnable, everything to play forgoing to be very interesting.
Going back to O’Hare he’s our most important player and if as I think he will he add goals to his assists and all round ability and he loves it here, appreciate him.

O'Hare was desperate to score for us, he was as frustrated as we were at times but one thing about him or a few things, he never hid always wants the ball and ALWAYS gives 100% I was sooooo fucking pleased for him when he scored and then that 2nd was sublime. Hopefully we continue that performance into the Dull & Direby games and the poxy international break doesn't fuck us like it usually does !

Agree with this Reg. Seems like a really nice kid in the interviews that I've seen and you could see at the now famous Blackpool away game how happy he was for Gus and the acclaim he was getting. To your point - looks to me that COH loves playing for the team and it's not all about him.
A couple of things I'd also add in. There's no way in the position he plays that he can play every game and be brilliant. We need to have some rotation next season. I know Bright was the plan this time around but let's hope that's addressed in the next window.
I'd also like to see more protection on the pitch for COH from some of the other 'more assertive lads' in the team - if he's being continuously kicked by the oppo I want someone like McFadz or Dabo directly letting the oppo know it's not going to continue on their watch - not suggesting Roy Keane career ending thuggery but the oppo should know directly that COH is going to be protected.
Failing that murder of the oppo by Adi in the tunnel as plan B!

One difference yesterday was that he wasn't kicked up in the air every time he got the ball by the Sheff Utd players, maybe because they couldn't get near him, but also because (I think) they actually tried to beat us playing football, not in the "traditional" Sheff Utd way.
