Why does the game not continue like in rugby? Its becoming clear that players are simply holding their head in order for play to be stopped. Case in point was Clarke-Harris today. Hurt his leg, Feigned a head injury confirmed via replay, and Peterborough got a concussion substitution. QPR commentators were going mental.

Players should be treated on the pitch whilst the game continues. Be amazing how head injuries or injuries in general would decrease

Maybe if they claim head injury they have to remain off the pitch for a longer period (say two minutes) unless they get subbed immediately.

this was always going to start happening once they changed the rules. they need to clamp down and fast as we all know how quickly this type of thing can get out of hand. Not sure what the answer is, maybe retrospective red cards for anyone found to be faking an injury and a mandatory numbers of games out for someone whose been replaced by a concussion substitute.

Sounds like a great way to encourage players with potentially serious concussions to play through them.

well that's exactly the issue isn't it, how do you put things in to safeguard players when those same players use the rules designed to protect them to essentially cheat.

but lets be honest here, if a player has gone off with a serious concussion they shouldn't be playing again in the short term purely from a medical perspective. In other sports you can't go off with a concussion and then be back playing a few days later, in fact you can't even train until you've been cleared by an independent neurological expert.

Across all injuries the time spent on the pitch rolling around (say anything over 1 minute to shake it off and get up) should be added on by the second. You should then leave the pitch for treatment. If proper treatment isn’t required it should be a minimum time spent on the sidelines (say 2-3 minutes).

The feigning injury to slow things down and waste time has gotten out of hand these past two or three seasons. It’s always been there but this sitting down with cramp when unchallenged on 80-90 minutes for example is really boiling my piss.
