Not looking good for Jodi's short or long term career prospects really, feel so sorry for him.

We do seem to have messed him around a bit really

We kept him on this season and he's been fit yet hasn't played much at all and wasn't given the opportunity to go out on loan in January. Yes, the club stuck by him after his injuries but given what's happened it feels like it was a waste of time for both parties.

I don't think he can have any complaints on how hes been treated here, Was anybody even interested in taking him on in January? We know the club erred on the side of caution with the January transfer window and covid, allowing players to leave etc. He's not good enough to displace Maatsen or Bidwell in the LWB slot, nor is he an adequate replacement for O'Hare or Allen in CAM. Agree it's been a waste of time having him though. I just don't agree the club have messed him around, he's contracted to us and gets a good salary for it. With his injury record I think he may have a hard time finding a FL club to take him on. He may need to drop down and prove himself again before working his way up the league.

Of course that led to a system change which got the best out of McNulty who scored 28 goals

We kept the same formation all season, with or without Jones.

McNulty was just slow to start the season, Jones playing or not is irrelevant. Jones’ numbers were impressive and undoubtedly we’d have been a better team had he stayed fit.

Andreu getting injured was a bigger factor since he was actually a CAM.

He has plenty of attributes to his game. Talented. A natural left sided player which are more rare these days, and now he is over his issues we should give him the opportunity to prove himself on the pitch. If he comes good again, we have a great squad player in the pack.

We started with Robins favourite formation 4-2-3-1 when Jones

when Jones got injured it became of a 4-3-3/4-4-2 hybrid with McNulty up top with biamou or JCH and Shipley or Bayliss drifting In.

there was definitely a system change when Jones got injured

The problem with this in general is he has played such a small amount of football for us in the last 3/4 years.. it's hard to work out wether or not he actually is good enough for the championship and wether he would be a good squad player or not Screenshot_20220324-101229_Chrome.jpg

It's 34 league appearances in 5 seasons

…and on the occasions he is available the manager has shown no interest in using him.

Sadly, I think a parting of ways is probably best for all concerned.

A fresh start for Jodi could be what he needs, look at Duncan Watmore who went through similar injuries. He's now thriving again at Middlesbrough.

Hope he gets fixed up somewhere and goes on to have a decent career.

For us, we've seen glimpses, but we don't know if he can play to the level of where we want to be, and we need to use every penny of the budget wisely.

Will be very sad to see him go, but i think its what both sides need

I think it's pretty easy for Robins and the playing staff who look at him day in day out though.

The fact that he's clearly done nothing in training or in his few appearances for the U23s to force their hand with regards to including him in the first team picture, probably tells us everything we need to know really.

Those 7 appearances this season equal a combined 58 minutes too.
He's featured in 2% of the club's minutes.

Might be wrong but think there is a one year option on his contract and I’m sure he’s not on a massive wage so bearing in mind quality squad depth I wouldn’t be surprised he stays another season, his current injury I believe is minor and nothing to do with his ACLs. Needs some decent game time though.

I’m not sure 58 minutes all season qualifies as depth tbh

I'm actually shocked by those L2 stats.

5 goals in 19 sounds good but 3 of them were in the opening day so only 2 in 18.

Really felt like he was better than that.

We only scored 20 goals in total in those 19 games, failing to score in 8 of them but also only conceded 11. I found our tactics were horrendously defensive and very limiting for the first half of that season and Jones did carry the majority of our attacking threat during that period.

He had 6 assists on top of that.

So 5 goals and 6 assists in 19 games, directly involved in 11 of the 20 goals the team scored is a very good return. He was the outstanding player of league Two for those 19 games.

Maybe Robins and coaching staff are playing extra cautious with Jodi and are phasing him back gently for this season with a view of getting a season under his belt before pushing him on more next season, that would explain to a point his lack of game time or that they just don't rate him....either way we will see what happens with him

He has more assists for us this season than bidwell and dabo combined

You were saying a couple of months ago that he was going to be pivotal for the second half of the season but now he’s only a squad player?

He’s hardly played for us, it’s pretty obvious what’s going to happen.

Seriously... Wtf is wrong with some people?

Some of our fans can be such bellends.

It's the same type who tag players who are in the starting line up before a game has even kicked off to give them abuse
