Just expand the rule Godden got done on to all conning of the ref and have retrospective bans handed out.

Blackburn wouldn’t be able to field a team for the rest of the season though.

Wasn’t there so I can’t comment on the efficacy of the ref. It’s an understandable shame these conversations happen though.
Yes, referees can and often should get better. However shouldn’t more focus and blame fall on the players? Every manager has to protect their players, I get that……but why don’t pundits slam this cancer on the game.
Shame players, shame the sponsors of these players. Can’t see it changing without public opinion making it change. Many South American countries consider it an art form. Disappointingly, we’re not that far behind…

Still can’t believe that Godden is the o key player to dive and win a pen in the whole of English football this season.

I think the time wasting could be solved relatively easily. I put a post up the other day… if you don’t have treatment on the sidelines it’s a minimum period before you can come back on. Say 3/4 even 5 minutes. Soon stop them going down if their team has to play with ten men for a proper period instead of being waved back on instantly.

Often thought this as well. Has a slight stench of “throwing the baby out with the bath water” but still think it’s worth a go. Even if only the 2nd halves of games (and extra time).

Weve seen teams time wasting from the 6th minute this season (Luton)

I think something’s gotta give. Ironically the rule where they have to trot off the pitch after having treatment only to be waved straight back on wastes even more time than if they got up and carried straight on with it. It’s probably the most cynically abused law in the game and really boils my piss. The routine going down with cramp late on is verging on ruining the thing.

Agree with that trouble is the EFL are corrupt.1 player all season has been retrospectively banned all season in all 4 divisions. Don’t have an issue banning Godden but at least look at all matches and apply the penalties across the board.

Unintended consequences with concussion. Only was is to follow the laws and add appropriate time on

The ref being absolutely fucking useless has got nothing to do with South Americans mate. The amount of cunts banging Charlie at the game however....

It pisses me off they never bother penalising for players kicking the ball away or blocking quick free kicks too.

They should both be an instant yellow.

Walking off with the ball too. I’d have a simple “don’t touch the ball if it’s not your set piece” rule, maybe with an exception for when it’s miles away or with the GK or whatever, but nothing kisses me off more than when we want to take a FK/throw in and the opposition wanders about with the ball refusing to give it back.

If he’s a Premier referee God help us, fucked about with his pissing ear-piece for ten minutes, bottled the penalty probably because he would have had to send the defender off what he booked Gyo for heaven knows, booked their Chilean striker then ignored his mimicking clapping which is a yellow card offence, what do these assessors think ?

Agree with this only gk and side taking the kick throwing etc should pick up the ball.
Its not Rugger so yellow card for anyone else.

Bottled the penalty? That was a big call that he got right.

That sounds great. Until someone clatters your player and reduces your team to 10 players for 5 minutes.

Actually I have just watched it on Quest and have to agree with the decision. Godden jumping a tackle did trip himself so fair enough to the referee, having said that he was crap.

Only if he lies on the floor for an age feigning injury.

So under the banner of player welfare you know when someone is injured or not.? All your rule does is encourage physios onto the pitch and increase delays.

I saw the sniffer dogs, something I never thought I'd witness at a football ground.

Incredible how pyro still gets in to the Ricoh every week. I assume young kids are getting them in without being searched.

Few months ago I would have been disgusted at the idea but sick of time-wasting and slowing games down with ridiculous fouling now. It's time for 30 min halves with clock stopping every time the ball is not in play

We took a throw in that bounced off the pitch and then in and played on.
Their keeper, either Gooden caught him and it was a booking or he dived when he ran out and kicked it out
Vik was just trying to stand up and gets a booking for that because of the melee they caused afterwards
I won’t defend the time wasting as I thing it’s a real scourge of the championship right now, not seen it as much in other leagues but I do think it’s difficult for the referee to stop, he will be marked down if they don’t stop to allow for the player recovery.
Adding multiple minutes for this though is within his gift and he did this yesterday so whilst shockingly bad, he did do that.

As I said in my rant yesterday about cheating, in fairness to the refs it does make their 'jobs' more difficult with the pathetic cheating and diving that is ruining our game by overpaid pussies, with nothing being done to eradicate it by the pissed old fogies that supposed to oversee the game, instead of doing something useful to carry the game forward they introduce a pathetic rule that when someone is offside flag half an hour later just in case the assistant waving his little flag has got it wrong...!!!! but back to the cheating and time wasting, I believe there is a referees assesor watching their handling of the games well my idea is If the onfield referee doesn't do anything about the blatant time wasting they will be marked down and not be allowed to officiate in that division for a period of 1 month for the first time they allow it to go unpunished, 2nd time they let it go 2 months etc etc. If we have to start at the top to clean the game up so be it but will the lilly livered pissed up twats that rule the referees do that NAH because they are fucking blinkered even though it would actually help their own referees in the long run
