The fucking mental gymnastics these idiots go through and the guff they come out with in order to defend whatever ridiculous situation Dear Leader has got them in.

Apparently we're more of a major player in the Russia Ukraine war than we were in WW1 and WW2.

roger Gayle hates boris Johnson so his point has credence - he’s asked him to resign on numerous occasions

By offering a "fulsome apology" he's admitting then that he lied in parliament, a cut & dry resignation offence under the ministerial code.

not really

This is probably when we find out if sunak believes No 10 was behind the leaks about his wife

If Sunak walks due to it being ‘the right thing to do’ after being found to have broken the law, it probably brings Johnson down with him. If he was already close to quitting after last week this could happen

If Johnson receives any more fines he’s definitely done, even if this is the only one misleading the House could well bring him down

Or kick Carrie out for organising the surprise party and blame her 😊

He's still talking shit, or are you saying the current conflict, which we're only on the periphery of, is worse than worldwide 2?

You're associating misleading the house with being a serious offence when it in fact it unfortunately appears to be a big joke to a lot of people.

Gayle despises Johnson and had had wanted his head on the platter for some time

He sees a potential leadership election as a distraction from a potential conflict which ciujd escalate. Like it or not zekensky rates Johnson - removing him is cheap domestic point scoring at the expense of foreign policy and a slap to Ukraine

You must be really worried about your mate Macron losing out to Le Pen in that case?!

Johnson going wouldn't make a jot of difference to the situation in Ukraine.

We wasn’t a major player in WW2. Someone better tell Coventry that they didn’t need a new cathedral.

Gayles reaction is significant

Its likely Johnson will stay and a wait and see policy regarding polls on the next few months with a suitable candidates being tested on the electorate

It doesn't matter what end of the political scale you sit at. Those lockdowns were fucking horrendous and by the end of it I had well beyond had enough. To think some people had to say goodbye to loved ones during that time with minimum numbers or proper gatherings was bad enough, but to have all of that whilst the people in charge had these parties? It's fucking disgusting.

Anyone involved needs to go, and yes, that includes Sunak and Johnson. Politicians make me cross all the time, but this is frankly on another level and I'm struggling to put it into suitable words.

State of that. Maybe cruel but I can’t watch him without laughing
It's not just that. You don't take it seriously because he so looks like someone like Rory Bremner doing a parody of an MP, which is arguably a genius move. You watch it expecting it to be full of nonsense

politics is a game

The strategists in the party will decide what’s best to do

Oh and before you start to blather on about deflection blah blah the nonsense around Blair The Hague and war crimes I also scoffed at

It’s a game - an interesting one - and I suspect plans will be drawn to get Johnson to continue for a while as his war ratings are very good and then to graciously bow out and a new successor a year before the election to appear with a new vision and a clear non sleaze direction
That's the trouble. Those that get involved tend to treat it like a game, because for them it doesn't matter. Whatever happens they'll still have a sweet life.

Football is a game.

Hungry fucking Hippos is a game.

Politics is what decides what kind of life millions of people will have. That is NOT a game.
