Every manager who's out of work wants to get back into the game at some point. Look at Redknapp. He wants to get back into the game after only being out for a few months........if only

He's already tweeted for people to tune in and listen to him with the news...as he calls in on the breakfast phone in on C and W tomorrow. I'd rather listen to someone important.

Correct decision for me. I think it was worth giving him a few games in League 1 to see if he could improve against lower opposition but those who have been to at least 1 game will know we still dont seem that bothered as a team for more than a half and i think a lot (although not all) of it comes from an inexperienced manager who unfortunately didnt cut it. Basic mistakes were not learnt and there is a good chance we would have been 10 league games in with Thorn and have only 1 or 2 wins, the odd loss and 7-8 draws which would mean little chance of playoffs let alone promotion.
I think we have a good team for league 1 so just want someone in who makes sure they get the best out of the team and can turn draws into wins rather than the other way round

Didn't take him long did it! Wonder how he is making time for that, I usually catch 2-3 seconds of him at the end of the travel for Northampton on the way to work before it switches back to a proper station. So I assume he works the breakfast show for them at the same time.

SISU have invested in a new squad and are looking for promotion this season.
They have taken action in an attempt to make this happen. After 3 games with no wins having led in all of them, they quite clearly think that Thorn is not the man.
SISU's RECENT actions are positive.
Get Ricoh rent reduced
Invest in a new team
Get rid of the high earners
Do not pay 1m in bonuses for relegation
Reward success
Do not tolerate failure
Invest in the acadamy
Try and live within our means
All this points towards a better future, and that relegation was the bad medicine which had to be taken before the above could be achieved otherwise Thorn would have gone last season. SISU wanted relegation????????

Said something similar on a thread not so long ago. IF we're promoted this season, we're back to where we started with a fraction of the expenditure. Makes sense from their hedge fund point of view. Doesn't mean that I agree with it, I still fcking hate them.

Carsley and Shaw have spent pre season with the signings so initially at least I wouldn't expect that being a problem-they will have had an input into transfer policy. As for Thorn; he was on the verge of a sacking last season so it's probable that his job security wasn't high to begin with. Came across as a sincere but out of his depth manager who arguably shouldn't have been given the job full time.
The squad is good enough for play off contention and with the right manager it can be achieved.

My own thoughts on the sacking are that we might have well have given him the game against Birmingham at least. If we'd won that a bit of confidence might have made a huge difference. It's a shame because I was at his first game in charge at Burnley, and the football we played that night was decent. Whilst we had the quality in personal, we looked like we'd give most teams a run for their money. The last 12 months have just been a nightmare, on and off the pitch. Genuinely thought that his approach to how the game should be played was right, but was tactically out of his depth. I would like to see him stay at the club as scout as he clearly has an eye for talent, but that's looking pretty unlikely. I'd like to wish him all the best.
In terms of a replacement, I'd love to see Dennis Wise back.
