I know Boris is a clown, but I'm just watching that Angela Rayner on TV, and there is just something about her that I dislike, Not sure how much of a benchmark I am, but I'm really not sure I'd be putting her in front of the cameras so often, as I'm (partly) convinced that she won't help swing votes the Labour party's way. As I say, may just be me!

Because she doesn't speak with a plum in her mouth?

That seems to be a key criteria for a lot of voters.

Posh voice = they should be ruling me

Can you unpack why?

Bit of intellectual snobbery (when she was shad Ed I couldn’t stand having an education Secretary who couldn’t spell basic words), bit of not actually agreeing with her at times. She’s working class but doesn’t actually represent the working class from what I’ve seen, being more woke activist and less straight talking like Prescott who she’s often likened to.

Wonder why people can’t see the competency of Yvette cooper

Yep. if we saw & heard far less from nowhere man Starmer & his sidekicks Rayner & Reeves, and instead heard a lot more from the likes of Burnham, Cooper & Nandy.........then we may at least have some sort of opposition with a hint of credibility....

She was sooo uninspiring in her leadership bid. Very managerial and very stuck in New Labour ways of thinking. Got very frustrated with her answer for low paid workers being “train for a high tech job” as if no one will ever be needed to clean toilets and sweep streets and we can all be web developers.

New Labours big mistake for me was thinking we could make the entire country Uni grads with uni grad wages instead of what they did which is devalue education and flood the market with worthless grads being overqualified for the same jobs.

Yep. With Smith in between cos even though he was awful the damage Corbyn was doing was clear by then.

To be honest, Burnham aside, it’s been slim pickings for Labour leaders. And even he was far less impressive before he went off to become mayor.

Sorry, no. I voted for Nandy with Starmer second.

She is someone that is quite abrasive. Someone you definitely only want to deal with in small doses as it'd get tiresome. Doesn't necessarily come off as being professional all the time and no doubt some would be put off by the accent. I do quite like that fire in her belly though.

I can see why the party would pick her as deputy to the understated Starmer though. Mash the two together and you'd probably have a half decent leader.
