My mate is a Bristol Rovers fan and won't shut up about him. No idea about the link to us but I'm dubious seeing as he's only had half a season in L2 and unless we played the box all season you'd think his playing time would be fairly limited with him being back-up to O'Hare (assuming we keep hold of him)

This lad is a good player, Im not sure if he is ready for the Championship yet though let alone promotion chasing side, I would look elsewhere on this one

The last player we signed on loan from Newcastle was quality, hopefully this lad will be the same if we sign him.

By all accounts he's very highly rated and it was a bit of a surprise he went as low as L2 this season. The lads on the Not The Top 20 podcast were singing his praises recently.

One of the priorities this summer will be back up for O'Hare, he can't do it all on his own. It's probably tittle tattle, but I'd take him.

Yeah my mate is absolutely amazed they managed to get him, assumes Barton's used his contacts.

You're right, we do need someone as back up to O'Hare. Just can't see Newcastle letting him come here if that's the case. Like you say, all just rumour atm anyway

I don't know if he's an out and out CAM, or if he can play a little deeper in CM as well. If he can do that then there's potentially a regular spot for him rotating between the positions, as Allen has done this season.

Looks like half the championship is being linked to him though.

Sterry was better at the time, but fuck me that was a depressing period to think about.

Page is now at Harrogate, and Sterry at Hartlepool. Both in League 2. To think they were probably raw enough to be below even that standard at the time they joined us... Makes sense I guess. Mowbray left us with right relegation fodder.

Think you’re being slightly unfair on Chris McCann there, he looked alright before disappearing to the States. Besides, I’m disappointed you missed Dan Agyei.

Chris McCann was very good, legs gone a bit & playing in a woeful team but loads of technical ability.

Lewis Page was OK tbf. Andre Wright and Kwame Thomas were dreadful.

Oh and remember the lesser spotted Charles Vernam and Michael Folivi!

Have we ever actually signed a player we’ve been linked to link this? Every transfer window someone whips up and article that links us and four other clubs to a player, but I can’t remember any of them every coming to anything.
