That's a poor result, Cardiff have lost their best u23s from the start of the season on loan. Lost 6-1 to a young Charlton side last week. Fair result? Sounds like the trialists didn't cover themselves in glory

As a fairly experienced player he should have known if he could get away with it with the ref daft really.

Yeah I think if you're going to go down that route it's much more beneficial from a recruitment POV to look at trialists over the course of a few weeks rather than just one game as even the best players can have stinkers.

But I guess on the whole experienced coaches can quickly gauge those who aren't worth taking a closer look at and those that perhaps are. Also I'd imagine, as shown by yesterday's game, we'll probably look at a fair few between now and the summer window so really if they're going to be kept on longer they need to impress off the bat.
