Surely Thorn is destined to go down in history as the worst City manager ever (2 Viewers)

You know very well that it looks like a dig at the outgoing manager on the day he was sacked as opposed to a reflection of the state of the club!

I know no such thing.

i created the thread simply because the record seems set to stand probably for eternity and I would have much rather it had been Coleman's or Reid's or Neal's rather than AT, who was simply over his head through no fault of his own

As I had said umpteen times I find it all saddening and rather it wasn't AT who had this stat.

Thorns final nail in his coffin was not being able to see that his two midfield players in barton and Jennings were shagged after the 60 minute mark. Three games after a short pre-season in Jennings case and Barton still getting to full fitness and not being able to see that was the final straw for the club. He should of gone last season and I didn't think it was on he thought himself the right person to continue.

Despite the shit he had to put up with that side was still good enough to of scrapped out of it. The same issues were present this year with the players not fit enough to see a 90 minute game through and Thorn not being intelliegient enough to change things in the middle of the game. I'm angry that Thorn has possibly screwed up this season already as a new man will have to get there fitness levels to a standard good enough and that may take a time. I'm angry that Thorn didn't have the honesty to say he wasn't right for this job and carried on the same methods as last year. I'm angry that I had to listen to the same tune week after week from Thorn playing the 'i've been hard done by' and 'We'll get it right'. How many more fuckin excuses can I listen to from him?

Tonight I hope the owners turn a corner and get the right man in who will steer this bloody big club into a standard and grade of football the supporters bloody deserve . Too long have we had to put up with imposters like Thorn who simply look after number 1 in order to keep there gravy train continuing.

One last though if anyone has shed a tear for Thorn. David Bell and Carl Baker. 4 years contracts on £8k a week.....who bloody told the board they deserve that contract with Ken Deluded...? Yes Andy bloody Thorn.

Good riddanceto Thorn..... the supporters deserve better.

Excellent well said.

In 50 years time people will look in bewilderment how the football club ever appointed this man in the first place. Hopelessly limited and incapable of demonstrating any ability a manager needed too. Also a stubborn streak which meant he was even incapable of learning from the many mistakes.

History will show the financial state of the club masked his short comings. They allowed him to operate with sympathy from supporters when all his predecessors would have rightly been booted after 13 points from one half of a season.

If he was man enough he would have realised such short comings and quit. Instead he continued to inflict misery through clueless tactics, embarrassing interviews and a complete refusal to ever admit errors or adapt to change.

I am actually annoyed we have wasted 17 months on this charlatan.

Good-bye Thorn you will not be missed.

FFS the ATP have got what they want and they still can't leave him alone. OR IS IT THEY WILL HAVE NOTHING TO DRONE ON ABOUT NOW AND WE HAVE REACHED THE END OF THEIR INTELECT ?

Sad to see him go, but that is merely because he was in above his head and probably just took on the role at first to help the club out. I am also sad for him because he seems a decent bloke and for what it's worth I liked him a lot more than I did Reid and Coleman.

He wasn't up to the job though. Been as clear as day. For me it's been the embarrassing school boy errors he made that proved he simply wasn't up to the job. On Saturday he was outsmarted yet again by an opposition manager.

I sincerely hope the rumour about the training isn't true. If it is I will be very angry as our not lasting 90 mins very much contributed to our downfall last season and cost us a number of points. If this rumour was true you would have to think we could have quite easily survived and that would be gallling.

But then it's like saying that Black was our best manager.

No-one is saying that are they? Never heard anyone say Black was our best manager. Better than Jimmy Hill? Milne? Sillett/Curtis?

The whole thread has been hijacked .... as per usual, but it was to be expected.

The history books will state that Andy Thorn was the worst manager ever. Can't see anyone ever getting such a low win ratio again for us.

Oh, i don't know. If Shaw loses a couple then gets replaced then he will have a worse record.
