Their off the ball game is dreadful too, not running back into position, not closing down players, no leadership, nothing.
I think this is characterised by Ronaldo. He should be the leader their but he isn't capable of doing the hard running so he can't criticise anybody else for the same.

I do believe if they clear out some of the crap and players that don't want to be in the summer and bring in a few decent young signings there they'll have a better season. It's going to take a few years until they'll be challenging for the title again

Completely agree with this. Ten Haag needs to have a 'we won't even look at it until 3 years in' sort of deal. They need root and branch reform and they need to have the patience to realise that isn't going to come straight away. I see them as in a sort of Liverpool pre-Benitez state.

United have got garbage players all over the gaff

Not one of their squad gets in a City, Liverpool or even Chelsea 11.

Id even go as far as saying only 1 or 2 at a push would get in a Spurs/ Arsenal 11

They've got a massive rebuild on their hands and the sooner they realise this instead of blowing money on shite the better.

I've always detested them, but i do miss the old days of United/Arsenal head to head for the title all season, Kean v Vieira, Yorke, Cole, Henry, Pires etc.

That was proper football

Surely Ronaldo gets into Chelsea's, Man City's or Liverpool's first 11?

I think Sancho gets a key role in most teams in the world if I'm honest.

That they aren't using him properly if it all shows the mess that they've made of it.

No, 17 goals and then paralysing the rest of the team is exactly why those clubs didn't sign him. The bait from Man City to get Utd to buy him was top class.

I doubt Maguire would get back even into the Lesta 11

Somehow I can just see it being Leeds who end up going down. They've got a horrible run of fixtures coming up.

Been a good game between Leeds and Man City, very frantic!

Can't see Leeds going down, even with the tough games they have. You won't see this level of commitment from Everton so I think it will be them that drop

If it goes down to goal difference Leeds are fucked.

How much will Norwich be rewarded for their failure this time around?

I've not seen an exact number, but I believe it works out overall as somewhere well north of £90 million just in Premier League prize money. Not bad for what is basically a "thanks for coming" payout.

If you were in the top flight for more than a season, you also get £15-20 million in the third season after relegation. Which is what Huddersfield got this year.

But they actually used it to massively reduce their squad and adjust to the championship - if you don’t have these payments you will make the premier league even more like the SPL with an absurd gulf between the teams who never fear the drop and those that do

They have indeed used them for what they are intended for this season & in that the premise is kind of understandable.

The problem with parachute payments is they're directly tied as a % of the amount of money in the PL so they have gone through the roof over the last few years & teams aren't using them to "cut their cloth" as intended but to assemble squads which are simply too good for Championship level & makes competing with them nigh on impossible. The further knock on of this is you get other clubs overstretching financially & risking their very existence to gamble on the riches of the PL.

The amount of money Bournemouth threw around on new players show its not being used for what it's intended for. Huddersfield themselves splashed some cash in their first season back down to try & immediately bounce back but failed & then have been pragmatic about it.

Your point about the SPL is fair but the current system of parachute payments is already leading to a situation where almost the same 3 teams swap places with the same 3 teams each season which destroys the competition.

Bournemouth spent a fortune on players in January the system is ridiculous.

Mina trying to sell that he was elbowed in the face for a Penalty. Why's that not a booking?

Everton started exactly how they needed to. Disappointing from Mykolenko though, he was under no real pressure to spurn that chance that probably wins the game.
