Quite interesting. I bet he would’ve been very close to being in the very middle too. Still impressive though. I don’t see him being as easy to replace as so many say.

Is this from the same guy who had Hyam as the third best central defender in the league

Not really no. It was to fit certain criteria & identify a particular type of CB which weighted ball carrying & ball playing over the defensive side of the game hence Hyam scoring better than you might expect. He actually ranks just below the average for aerial duels etc.

100% or vice versa, to identify potential targets to then be scouted in person. This is how the majority of clubs work.

Did we use data to sign hillsner jobello Da Costa and Kastaneer?

It does come across sometimes as if the signings are not chosen by MR but by the recruitment team. He tells them what we need and they try and fill the gap. Also if the recruitment team see value in a player like Cashman then they try and sign them.

I assume it played a part, in exactly the same way as it would have with Hamer & to a point Gyökeres, Sheaf etc etc.
I know Jobello was identified by one of the scouts whilst watching games in France though rather than initially flagged by data.

To a point yes, same as at most top clubs now. The difference with us is Robins always has the final say (except for U23 signings like Cashman, McCallum etc which he allows the relevant Academy staff to sign off on). He has always been a big advocate of watching players himself though &, as STP says, will be looking to step that up with any possible foreign signings to try & avoid anymore missteps but it's far from an exact science & we get far more right than wrong.

I don’t want any of our better players to leave unless every penny went into MRs budget, but if one did & I’m thinking Hamer I’d love us to make a serious attempt for Joe Rothwell as a replacement, top player, would cost wage wise but could help make us serious prospects next season.
I like PNEs Daniel Johnson too.

I’ve seen Daniel Johnson play several times as well, and have always been impressed. Tries to get his team on the front foot quickly and good passing range.
More limited than Hamer, but still a decent player who I’d be happy to have.

Hamer and COH gonna be difficult to replace probably then Viktor as a striker will attract the highest bidder and if Fulham make a bid it will be a big one for city will be unable to ignore.

Said it a while back and nothing has changed; Hamer for me.

He has the ability to be our absolute stand out, and a game changer, and when he’s on it, it’s impressive. But he isn’t anywhere near enough. He’s also the most easily replaceable.

In terms of the others COH is absolutely pivotal to how we play. His goal scoring is an issue, but even so he changes games and constantly worries opposition.

Gyokeres is a complete striker and the best I’ve seen for a long long time. He can do everything and he scares defenders. Plus his trajectory will only continue.
