Good luck to him and I wish him every success:

He’s been a big part of a lot of good things over the last few years and key to the revival. As others have said, we just got a level too high.

The whole ‘Cov Kid’ thing was used as a negative by some, but for me it’s fantastic he was such a significant part of turning our club around. The scenes after Notts County away were incredible and it was evident how much he loved the club that night.

Anyone got/seen any photos of his reception afterwards?

If I was Shipley I’d hold off a few weeks. I’m sure there will be better sides than Shrewsbury he will have an option to join.

With respect to Shrewsbury I’d Be disappointed if he ended up there after Coventry city.

Just be realistic. He's been a great servant for the club but some people are behaving like we have Messi retiring.

Shrewsbury is absolutely his level, and I wish him luck there.

Good luck at Shrews Jordan. Not the most talented player but you could always see how much it meant to him to play for us. Such a sweet left foot and some memories to last a lifetime

Can someone clever put the footage from Facebook of him at the end of the game. Some people avoid that FB group and I’m not in the clever category to be able to do it …thanks

I’m referring to a bigger league one club coming in for him like a Sunderland where he will will get a better salary.

Cheers Jordan 👍

Lived our dream, contributed enormously on and off the pitch to where we are now and some special moments.

Been great for the supporters, my daughter absolutely gutted and if Vik or Callum are also sold over the summer im going to have a very unhappy girl.

For where he's going, he was shown round the facilities at Shrewsbury the other day, but Bolton are still keen which is where he was going in January until MR pulled it and Portsmouth and Lincoln have also shown interest recently all in L1 and Hull from the Championship. Personally think Pompey would be a great fit for him.

Bolton or Portsmouth seem good fits. He just needs to be playing now though, so hopefully wherever he goes he'll get that.

Pompey fans like their workhorse, and have just had the 'Tyler Walker' experience. They might be quick to get on Shippers' back, which isn't what he needs (unless he gets off to a good start with them). Wherever he ends up, we obviously all wish him the best (and success),

What a lovely lovely moment, I was there yesterday to watch it myself and it brings a great big lump to my throat to watch it again.
It just shows that there are footballers out there that do care about the clubs they play for.
Good luck young man and thank you for representing Coventry City, you'll be forever a Sky Blue.
Bless you mate.

Can I just say fellow forumites, if you listen to the commentary of the game Clive Eakins says that Shippers' Dad calls into the programme quite often.
Given that some members on this forum have slaughtered Shipperley over a period of time for his performances, I wonder how they'd feel if they were on the receiving end of the vileness subjected towards their sons and daughters going about the working day, warts and all.
And before anyone jumps in and says we're entitled to our opinion well I say to you, no you fucking well aint, you're only entitled to what you can argue for.
Entitled to an opinion means entitled to have your views treated as serious candidates for the truth.

What the fuck are you on about? Of course people are entitled to their opinions. Just as people who have a differing view are entitled to disagree with them.

Very moving all round.

I met Jordan after one of the games at St. Andrews and had a chat - very decent, genuine and pleasant - a total credit to his Dad and family.

That goal at Wembley to secure the game - a Cov lad playing for his home town club - in front of our fans massed behind that goal - that's living all of your boyhood dreams right there. How many of us get to do that?

I never realised Neil Shipperley has been playing for us all these years - could’ve sworn he retired years ago….surely he’s old enough to take peoples opinions by now too

Everybody is entitled to an opinion but there are many ways to express that opinion.
Shippers and his family have been on the end of some serious vitriol the last couple of seasons. Totally unfair and unjust in my opinion. He worked hard and did his best for CCFC. All the best for the future.
Remember when you post obscenity and personal stuff there is a person on the receiving end who has feelings.
PUSB and Shippers is part of the Skyblue family.

I have nothing but respect for Shippers. 100%er, I am sad to see him go, yesterday was emotional. Good luck and tear it up at the Shrews.

While I defend the right to criticise I recognise that it sometimes gets unnecessarily vitriolic.

However, the flip side is its part and parcel of the job he does which also allows him to experience some incredible moments like yesterday's send off and conducting the SBA at Meadow Lane after the play off semi.
