Derby went into administration which is a clear breach — you honestly think a club with nearly £400 million losses and no whiff of administration is a problem but if it lost £315 million it’s solvent?

Have Derby been liquidated? Must have missed that.

You complained that a great historic club like Derby was being treated unfairly-but you want to keep a system in place that basically gives clubs 3 choices:

Find a tycoon who's happy to write off what he puts in

Er no I didn’t - if a club goes into administration it’s a clear breach and a points penalty can be applied.

FFP rules are subject to accounting and interpretation and are bollocks. There is far less chance of Stoke City going into admin say than Luton. Far less. So what’s the point you are making?

That something needs done to fix English football's problem with the 3 way choice that most clubs in the top 3 tiers face.

Hasn't it always been thus?

And that includes us, we'd still be Southern league without our very own tycoon.

The issue is more the change from club to business. If somebody wants to pump a mass of cash in they're welcome, they just shouldn't be able to ask for it back!

I think there’s a clear difference between the pre and post Abramovich eras. As Wenger said, it was much easier for him to do what he did when there weren’t any other mega rich owners to compete against. Now it’s almost a condition of entry to have one.

But there isn't in terms of clubs being bumped up a level, or not.

Man Utd, Liverpool, Preston, Arsenal - just about all of them bankrolled by somebody to reach the top.

It's a lot easier for Wenger to do his job when he was bankrolled by the board he had (and the Hill-Woods got Glossop up first before abandoning them to oblivion, let's not forget) then it was if he'd had Dodgy Dave the turntable slave as his chairman!

Ultimately, the problem is over-inflation and lack of control over how people can give their clubs money, and who is allowed to give their clubs money. Ultimately a football club is not really a business in the traditional sense, and ultimately every football club really needs a benefactor.

Wenger was a hypocrite he was more worried about building grounds than teams by the end and how did he manage with an owner who was down to his last 10 billion dollars, the difference between Roman and Kronke was that one was prepared to throw cash at his team an the other was happy running a tight shop and taking money out for his other sports franchises.
