£1m main striker in the championship to free transfer to recent L2 team in 2 years. Massive drop.

He's a confidence player with 0 confidence.

In fairness he went back to the manager who’s previously got the best out of him, kept playing him when he wasn’t scoring and supported him in the press. If he still hasn’t got any confidence then the issue may be closer to home

Forest loaned him out four times, with the last spell being at Lincoln who were in League 1 at the time. We then signed him at the end of that season.

Personally I think joining Bristol Rovers (who are now a League 1 team) is absolutely fine for him, and probably the career restart he needs.

I think a good move for him would be somewhere like Posh who are going to be up there and play a very striker friendly system.

Coventry to Pompey to Bristol Rovers in 4 months. Ouch.

I think it's his level at the moment and he would have to add a lot to his game to make it in the Championship. He might do so eventually but there has been no sign of it in the last year when he has gone backwards unfortunately.

Peterborough already have several strikers.

Equally a club chasing promotion out of L1 wouldn't likely touch him anyway. His time at Portsmouth would've pretty much cemented that.

Whilst it's a rapid fall from grace, it's a move that probably is a good fit for where his career is at, at the moment.

Bristol Rovers have reasonable backing too and crowds, they could do well next season

The question will be how much are we prepared to pay up his contract. Probably £200K ish
No way Bristol Rovers can match his CCFC contract.

I’d still rather loan him out then let him go permanently. He scored 14 for Lincoln in league 1 In half a season. One good year at league 1 level and we could get our money back for him. McNulty went for a million for 1 good season in league 2!

He's only got 1 year left anyway so if he had 1 good season in league 1 then he would go for free anyway at the end of it

Speaking of, a friend of mine who has the inside track at Chesterfield told me they're looking to sign him this summer.
