I hope the flags come down afterwards. I’m in a seaside town and it looks a bit meh anyway but they’ve added cheap plastic flags everywhere. If they leave them up past this it’s going to look grim come winter.

Just seen the news reports on the scum protesters. Fkn weird. Lots of things I don't like, but let people who do enjoy them. Why would you spend your money travelling and risk being arrested making a tool of yourself just to disrupt something you don't like? People can be horrifically stupid at times.

Protest isn’t meant to be convenient

Well you seem to associate a royal family with class structure and privelege
Most countries (if not all) in Europe are must smaller ie. so called working full time members. The UK has 19 including some of the queens cousins. I doubt anyone on here could name them all without researching them yet we’re all contributing financially to their lifestyle.

Other European countries royal families are not like ours in terms of size, cost and gifted stature. Many attended/attend state schools for instance, don’t have someone wipe their arse etc etc.

Pretty comprehensive on Statista. Like it or not it’s still a part of the country.

Whether those levels remain after the Queen passes I doubt, but for now a vast majority appear in favour

This will change significantly (for the better) as the older generations die out. At least there’s some hope that the next generations are thinking for themselves rather than following “tradition” like sheep.

Serious question. How does pro monarchy sit with being a Christian?

The reason I ask is because the royal family tree gives them Devine rights and basically says they’re direct descendants of Adam and Eve. Unless you’re a Christian surely this this makes it difficult to be pro monarchy. Basically the royal family is only the royal family because they were chosen by god. When you actually start reading into the history of the royal family it gets very Kim Jong-Un like.

Everyone is so outraged and yet days like today whether you agree with privilege or not are fantastic for the economy.

Also in terms of what they cost versus the revenue they generate, people get so upset and the last calculation was something like 70p ea p/a. If all 30 of you that are outraged on here can come to an agreement I'll pay your £20.10 to a charity as long as you promise to stop moaning.

Thanks for the maths lesson, apologies for transposing the 1 and 0 but I can confirm I will add the 90p too

He didn’t get to where he’s got to today without knowing that - great smashing super

Afraid you’ll need to add a bit more on. The cost of security is pretty high and never included in the official total. The amount brought in from tourism is also usually overestimated.

If you support us having more bank holidays in general then I’m with you.

Obsessed. You do remember sending all your kids to the same school as me?

I guarantee that figure doesn’t factor in the tax that they avoid paying purely because they’re the royal family. That’s a cost of £5.21 PP. Then the current celebrations are costing each and everyone of us £38 each.

It’ll cost more than that in electric to watch it all on the TV…

I'm pro monarch

Also Labour, also would vote remain in another referendum 😃

Woah slow down, you don't fit a ridiculously outdated stereotype the Tory boys use!

Mind you, apparently `The Left' are `scum protesting/liberal elite/benefit sponging slobs/too thick to rise above blue-collar/the track at JLR'.

Oh and they like/hate the queen and or Brexit depending which argument they're being manipulated for.

I think I've got that right but I've lost track tbh

The real left have always supported brexit - British jobs for British workers is the mantra of the actual left

We're not one of those dreadful firms that kicks a man when he's already on the floor, Reggie.
