Would you be happy if as SBB has stated, we add Palmer, JCS a striker and a couple of loans?

Cant argue with us being stronger than last year if so

Thoughts?

SBB said that the contracts that OHare and Hamer signed were unsustainable in the long term, so sadly, I think that forces our hand somewhat in accepting a bid of some sort at some stage.
Granted, we don't fully know how long a term the quoted "long term" is!

Unless we sell other players in surprising deals.

I'd be over the moon with what you suggested in your post though SB!!

Bare minimum we need is AM, LCB, LWB of first team quality. I’d be a little worried that Palmer hasn’t played a full season in forever and would rather another AM in, but if we get a quick forward in on loan who can play ST or AM I’d be happy.

So taking rumoured names:

JCS, Palmer perm, Plange and Palace LWB loan.

Would give us this squad:

Moore/Wilson
Hyam/Rose
Fadz
JCS
Dabo/Kane
Hamer/Eccles
Sheaf/Kelly
Loan LWB/Bidwell
O’Hare/Palmer/Allen
Györkeres/Godden/Plange/Waghorn/Walker

Seems very light at the back and at CM and heavy on strikers.

Ideal world is want to ship out Kane, Kelly, Waghorn and Walker and bring in a RWB, CB, CM

Then being a top end challenging championship team is unsustainable. the players we are apparently attempting to sign to push us to the next level are established championship players all will command decent contracts.
My gut feeling is after MRs meeting with Joy he seemed happy and signed a contract extension.

I'd be happy with that, we would also have Eccles and Kelly fit again, so the squad looks healthy, and the players would of learnt a lot from last season and so hopefully improve.

Regrettably, having Kelley and Eccles fit again may not be along term benefit, given their history

One will go for sure
Let's be honest if you were Hamer and had the chance of going to Brighton to play in the PL next season what would any of us do?

Whilst we had a good season it was evident our defence shall we say was a tad leaky so definitely more quality required there

The Hamer to Brighton rumours keep getting Louder

Being as they've just got £25 million for Bissouma I would be telling them 8 and that Cochrane LWB and you've got a deal

From what I can remember from last season, we were struggling to get out a side, I don't think 'competitive' is the right word, but one that was hampered through covid or injuries.

Just wondering if the size of the squad is going to increase, what with the new rules about subs and everything.

Some big decisions to be made on current squad members that im sure will have an impact on incomings this summer. While all will be evaluated on the fitness aspects of things, we have 6 that will be watched very closely soon as a ball comes out. These will be evaluated with a different question in mind, if fit enough are they good enough?. If so plans and pathways will be set for them to step up as quick as possible.

This question applies to Cashman, Rowe, Bapaga, Reid, Howley and J Burroughs. In my opinion 3 of these will be a part of next seasons squads. The one i have no idea on is Cashman, he is a complete unknown quantity and one i hope makes an impact. Lots of time to sort things out and fill the gaps to get a squad ready for the 1st game if the season.

The first two on the list should be looking for alternative employment, Cashman sat on the bench low down the leagues and Rowe did little while away. They like the look of Howley and haven’t seen the other to comment on them.

Why ? It’s not as easy as people think going out on loan to clubs two or even three divisions below. These leagues are tough and competitive with seasoned pros in the teams.
Out of interest when did you see Cashman or Rowe to comment on them ?

Both hardly played for low down teams that doesn’t smack of first team squad players when they come back.

This league is the same as the lower leagues just harder.
