It's up to Alan/fisher. And what about wise? Employed on the back of a great 6 months with us too really

Agree totally. People would be saying the same thing of Thorn if he had gone at the end of his caretaker spell.

Wanting Black is like wanting Spangles back. Nostalgia.

Too much expectation. Far too much and he surely would not live up to the billing.

Let's just bathe in the memories of the 4, 5 and 6 goal games he gave us and leave it as something to tell the grandchildren.

Yeah, he'd be Ok. Tisdale too would be a good appointment. I will support the new bloke, unless it's Megson.

I just hope we don't repeat previous mistakes and give it to an ex-player with zero experience.

Who do you want?
Liam Devine ?

What worries me about tisdale is the Exeter fans hate him.
Liam Devine has a great record. Young, hungry, winner

Even Devine has a better record than Thorn - and he doesn't exist.

Grendel, let it go. Dont kick a man when he's down
You no longer have "a thorn in your side"

I've nothing against Devine that's unfair.

To much bloody fan sentiment on here for Wise and Black and its clouding peoples judgement.
At the end of the day its Sisu's decision if they fu-ck it up then they slit their own throats, Sisu have most to lose or gain.
But Sisu's track record on decisions and knowledge of football doesn't fill me with much confidence for getting it right !!!!

Their track record on managerial appointments certainly needs to improve.

Put it this way. Boothroyd, we got a manager we didn't want, we were top 4 at Xmas and the crowds were dwindling n grumbling about football.
Trust me this appointment is to get fans back on side

Ok. Sorry. It's just sweaty fat men. I understand, I've been to a Turkish bath

Nothing fat about Coleman. If you think I don't like Thorn we could spend time chatting about Armani Man

I'm finding this very amusing. I know a local lad called Liam Devine and it's hardly a common name. Seems someone's taking the piss!

I'm pretty sure there's no such manager...

Why is Wise such a popular choice and people claiming he is a "winner". Perhaps he was as a player but I cannot remember any achievement of his in management?! Brief reminder: he has only been in 1 managerial role where he has completed a full season in which the club got relegated. Admittedly, in the short stints as manager he was winning a good amount of games but IMO this success was down to his no.2 Gus Poyet. If he is appointed, I won't be pleased nor optimistic but I will support him as CCFCs manager all the same.

First appointment was at Millwall I believe where he got them to the FA Cup final and a decent league finish-without Poyet, but 8 years ago.

Fair enough he got Millwall to the final of the FA Cup as player manager, undeniably a good achievement. However, IMO getting out of this league is priority above all and for me he just does not have the experience. I also think that his ability as a player helped Millwall as he wasn't over the hill when he was playing for them so their mid-table finish was not solely down to his managerial tact.

Still think Di Canio from Swindow ticks a number of boxes...#thisisahashtag

Yeah, if I was an up and coming young manager riding the crest of a wave at a club with a huge feel-good factor surrounding it, I'd probably jump ship to a hive full of misery and gloom. Dead sensible.

You've been to Swindon right? Our history may not be as great as the Man Utds of the world admittedly, but let's not do ourselves a dis-justice yeah. We were the 4th longest team in the top flight, our record in the Premiership era sees us sit something like 17th out of all the teams who've played in it (including some established sides), we've won a major trophy in the past 30 years (not many can say that), Cov has a bigger fan base than Swindon, our stadium is world class despite what some locals might think of it, our academy is one of the best outside of the Championship etc etc.

It's only doom and gloom if you dwell on things. Are we in perfect shape, no, far from it. Are Swindon feeling a buzz more than we are at the moment? Yes definitely. Does that make them a better proposition that us long term? Not in my eyes. Fair enough if you see differently but don't let the past few years for Cov and Swindon cloud your judgement that they're a better option than us.
