Interesting mate, would you suggest Liam kelly would be an effective replacement for him? We had our best result of the season with a midfield of sheaf and Kelly
Don’t be ridiculous

are we seriously comparing Gus to Liam Kelly

kelly has been good for us may I add but come on

Are you intentionally misreading this, I thought more of you ;)

You of all people should know how this works.

I do, I just think you have never really shown the chess rating system to be transferable to analysis of individual players. Though if you really must keep up the chess comparison it's like comparing the win rate of opening variations while ignoring that one may have been played thousands fewer times than the other

You are right, I did suggest categories for a player's activity as a companion to the ratings.

There are other ways to show this information, but for me the information has always been on how the ratings travel and how they are interlinked with each other, and not just the end point of a rating with the variation of travel given as well.

It is messy, but it contains information that is not usually shown.

Just can't do it both ways.

Gus is more important to how we play than COH, he’s a different level

but that’s just my opinion

Gus would be a way bigger loss than o hare

controversial but this pivotal COH comments are only because he’s had no competition for 2 seasons so we have to play him

utterly clueless

Signed so that it would benefit him and also the club if bids were to come in and he is on a longer/better contract.

Similar to grealish signing a 5 year deal with villa before the man City bid. I use similar loosely like.

Deserves his own thread.

Technically a superb player- in my opinion our best since relegation from the Premier League, including better than some of the players that actually played for us in the top division!
Will be a massive loss!

I'm not going to give that sh*tty rag any traffic so I don't know what the article actually says but let's be real.

Its the s*n, unless I hear it from more reputable sources. I'm not going to worry too much.

Wiltshire could only be pay as you play for any team signing him surely.
Such a shame he's had so many injuries. So talented when he came through.

Do you really think he’s only going to get ‘pittance’ though

The fact he’s committed himself to a new deal recently puts my mind at rest that he’s obviously had conversations with the club and they have green lighted any targets he may have in mind to replace any of the big 3

Robins is no mug, if these players were being sold from under his feet I genuinely believe he wouldn’t be sticking around yet alone being happy to sign a new contract
Out of interest, what would you say is market value for him?

Its got to be the model to sell at their peak and reinvest. That means O’Hare and Hamer off this summer really. As long as we reinvest enough to build the squad quality/potential I won’t be worried.
Problem is, everyone talks about this 'Brentford' style model, which worked wonderfully for them. Problem is our owners are SISU, they could very easily give the manager next to fuck all from any sale.
Will be interesting to find out actually.

That's so embarrassing.
It really is. He's been here two seasons of which his ill discipline on the pitch has cost us what, 8-9 games without him due to suspension plus the last 6 games he was on 14 cards so played well within himself when we needed him most. For me he never hit the heights of his early promise and second half of season 1 he was actually quite poor.

But because he's got a catchy song he's a legend

Well then we riot because they’ll have come to the end of their usefulness.

I could not disagree more. If we sell Hamer he will be a massive player to lose.

let’s not now pretend he’s rubbish because it looks like he might be leaving us.

Bit harsh. He's a great player and will be a loss. As I've always said. Good players get signed by better teams.

Never said he was rubbish and I don't want him to go but you can't shy away from his outrageous disciplinary record. After his two game ban for ten yellows he got 4 yellows in about 5 games following it! That's insane

For Hamer?

I would say 7/8m is a fair price, I’d drive him down there myself for 10, not a chance anyone is going to pay 15
£7/8m or even £10m Robins will be lucky to get anywhere near 20% of that for team building we all know that, might get lucky and find a cheap gem, it’s about wages top players command top money our income has gone from a 5k crowd at St Andrews to nearly 20k at CBS we now have I believe 13000 season ticket holders and are now according to our chairman cash flow positive apparently some years ago incomes such as tv money risen too yet it appears we can’t or won’t compete with clubs on similar incomes.

I can sort of see what he means. There are people going on like he’s a prime Andreas Pirlo. Massive player to lose, I agree, but again, he’s certainly the easiest to replace.
I personally think we could find a “10” that would add more end product in terms of goals and assists than O’Hare. I love how he helps us in transition but I’m not sure it’s clear cut that Hamer is the easiest to lose.
