Blackburn have lost their captain Lenihan to Boro, Rothwell to Bournemouth and inevitably Brereton-Diaz. Shades of our 15/16 season…
If his contact expires tomorrow then how were we trying to get him on loan?
Unless it was one of those where the player signs a new contract and goes out on loan straight away?
It’s part of the development of player rules that were brought in to help protect clubs that invest in academies for years only to see players not sign new contracts at 19-20 and leave the club for nothing. The compensation isn’t normally huge.If his contract has run down why did Burnley pay a fee? Compensation?
@Skybluebeliever was the Egan-Riley move that fell through a loan or permanent
Strange that I can be so disappointed about not signing a player I know nothing about. He was out of contract so you know the answer
So what’s the talk of Burnley paying 350k for himHe was out of contract so you know the answer
My understanding was the club were possible looking at both the defenders that have just gone to Burnley@Skybluebeliever was the Egan-Riley move that fell through a loan or permanent

They were also unsure if Man City would offer new terms I think
Any update on the other one that Robins said was ready to "pop over the line"My understanding was the club were possible looking at both the defenders that have just gone to Burnley

Compensation presumably.
The one from Oxford that they paid nearly 2 million for?My understanding was the club were possible looking at both the defenders that have just gone to Burnley

Going on what MR saud the other day some players contracts run to 1st of July. That date must have meaning as he wouldn't of said it, could be talks are with players and signings will come from Friday onwards. But who knows really other than MR himself clubs situation changes at any given day and looks like being quiet is the best policy unless you have all done

Which suggests they offered a new contract on at least equal terms.
Correct for PL and EFLNot certain but i think all players contracts finish on June 30th there may be that dont but that is my understanding.
I think I’d quite like to see Michael Hector or Barbett on a permanent and on loan probably out of our budget but Mads Sorensen or Jarrad Branthwaite
Has he? I checked his stats on Transfermarkt and saw 11 games and 892 minutes (in the PL) so assumed that it was spaced over the season, if so then definitely out of rangeSorensen is firmly part of the first team squad at Brentford and established himself in the 11 towards the end

good suggestion with Branthwaite think a lot of Championship clubs would be interested in taking him
