better days

Maybe the lucky to be alive comment wasn’t referring to a spat with another player but something like alcohol/drug abuse?

Maybe we’ll never know.

Regardless, if he has an issue and has asked for help hopefully he receives the correct support.
I think SBB said something like 'lucky to survive' in the sense of not having his contract cancelled
Don't think the lad has a problem with booze or drugs

To be fair Eccles is a very talented central midfielder who can play right wing back. We shouldn't hamper his career by him being a fill in wing back.
Not me who suggested it!

Kane hasn’t fitted in with squad , they see Eccles as a better prospect hopefully he will be fit , might delay Kane going but wouldn’t expect him to be in squads

I thought Eccles was the replacement?

More to do with the match day squad

Shipley , JCS ,Maatsen and Jones have gone , these 4 were in that squad
If Kane goes without replacing then that is 5
We have brought in Palmer , could say Walker is back and Kelly and Eccles are fit
Howley and Tavares were mostly in the squad anyway last year

Do you know if we're any closer to improving the squad, it'll be a big ask of the lads like Eccles, Howley,Taveres possibly Burroughs if we have to use them to fill the squad

Just imagine though , Howley , Eccles , Burroughs , Tavares + maybe even Bapaga with a years experience at this level the season after next. Would love to see the side with some homegrown talent in it.

I know Tavares was from Rochdale and I’m living in a bit of a FM fantasy land but it would be great to see!

As much as I would like to see the players listed above, a squad with all of those on the bench or occasionally playing screams league 1 to me

Would be great to see a youngster really break through and establish themselves again.

Yeah aside from Eccles I’m not sure they have the quality but as above it would be great to see one break into the squad proper and be proven wrong.

Okay we have had a couple of set backs with early targets we have lined up. But it is still early days in this window.

I think there will be more movement in general over the next couple of weeks. As teams bring players in they move others out. Also the options on the better loans often happen later on as teams squads take better shape.

I still anticiate a major melt down though, after the first boring non event friendly on Saturday, with the R word being used liberally 😂

Regardless of any off the field issues I just don't think Kane is very good.

And it was pretty clear at the time of his signing that he was a bit of a prick off the pitch.

'Ohh but he's played 200 championship games!' was the riposte when he signed.

Not been overly impressed by him considering he was with Chelsea

Dabo had spells where he was absolute tripe last season, he gets injured a fair bit too. Eccles, who, if Kane left would be his back up I suppose, seems to be plagued with injury problems.
Still say I wouldn't be in a rush to offload Kane unless someone is coming in. Maybe one of these 'fringe' players SBB was talking about.
