Yeah there should.
I think there are guidelines though (and it also depends on the job and conditions).
There’s a guideline minimum of 16 but no maximum

Ohhhhh, would be nice. I have been in offices at 1 or 2 degrees some winters!
16.1 is legal minimum it’s not guideline although it is dependent on work. Hasawa 1978 I thinkThe only bit the law says is it has to be ‘reasonable’. Outdated considering that previously extreme temperatures for this country are becoming normal.

OK so we have an entirely predictable problem coming up here which will present a real risk to vulnerable people especially the old. Are the Government doing anything to mitigate this and do they have a plan or are they just going to wait until it happens again?
And places where elderly people could go with air conditioning? Opening public buildings to the vulnerable. All it takes is some planning and foresight but instead they are rambling on about trans issues and tax cuts.A legal maximum working temperature would be a good start-and help businesses and workplaces install air con
This heatwave is symptomatic of global warming, we know the planets average temperature is rising year by year, the ice cap is melting, etc etc and most of the Tories want to scrap the Green Levy and Carbon neutral targets.OK so we have an entirely predictable problem coming up here which will present a real risk to vulnerable people especially the old. LiterallyStill absurd that the country is going to break its record ever head by over 3 degrees and the morons all over Facebook are shouting "get over it it's summer"

I reckon much sooner than that.I reckon in about 100 years air con will be standard for all homes In the UK the way its going
Maybe sooner
Of course and global warming is the most important challenge facing us by far, so you'd think the Conservative leadership challenge should all be about who has the best vision for tackling it. Except you wouldn't because they think there are few votes in it.This heatwave is symptomatic of global warming, we know the planets average temperature is rising year by year, the ice cap is melting, etc etc and most of the Tories want to scrap the Green Levy and Carbon neutral targets.

NopeAs on the other thread, Liz Truss did actually speak in favour of nuclear power and renewables as the moderate term answer. Not sure who fed her that one, but it's correct
Yep higher one is a guidelineA legal maximum working temperature would be a good start-and help businesses and workplaces install air con
I'm expecting the chilled aisle at Tesco Arena to be absolutely heaving .Who's got the aircon for us to pile into?!?

Not bollocks at all. If the air's being heated up by the sun, you don't want it getting up your house tooCurtains and blinds shut.

Apparently windows shut through the day but surely thats bollocks?
We have shutters and they're only opened during the evening in summer - it keeps the sunlight out and keeps it cooler.Curtains and blinds shut.

That panic buying of antibac gel will come in handy thenThose who have access to it-rub anything with a high alcohol content into your skin. The evaporation will cool you down without you having to sweat.

Windows shut, curtains closed. Bunker mentality!
