O'Hare bids (36 Viewers)

I don’t scour the forum but I haven’t seen a bid figure from Believer. I think I saw Better Days mention 5m was rejected.

What I find a bit weird is that there’s a fucking tidal wave of depression because our owners are a hedge fund… and they’re operating like a hedge fund. Where have you been the last 15 years? Do I want a fan with a few billion burning his back pocket, fuckyeah.. but we don’t, we have a hedge fund and until that changes I temper my expectations.

All I can say is thank fuck we have MR, Viveash and the majority of players they’ve assembled for blowing the lid off those expectations in the last few years. SISU are our owners. It is what it is. Fuck them. All we can do is support and trust those who are excelling for our club.

That whole post is just empty waffle to be honest, (apart from the thank fuck we have MR and Viveash bit).

Having a bad day Grendel. Loads of negativity and despondency coming from your key board today.
Pour yourself a beer, sit in the sun and think positively.

Curious comment given many on here seem equally or even more negative

Let’s be honest Robins would never agree to a “we are going to sell a player and no matter what we get for him we are keeping it” situation would he.

Realistically there’s probably a number that’s been agreed that’s needed to go back into running costs of the club. Or a % up to a number or whatever.

But don’t let any pragmatism get in the way of a good bedwet and let’s all get absolutely livid about the sale of a player (that’s not yet happened) and the pocketing of the money (that we’ve not yet received). Slow summer for everyone I guess
Bedwetting has become the most overused word on the forum and its boring. All we can talk about in the summer is speculation and if the best ITK on the forum is correct our owners are about to shaft us.
I didn't assume this would be the case, I would think with how the fans have backed the club they'd reinvest, but I have no inside info.

£6M, if true for one of the best attacking midfielders in the Championship, is taking the piss, and what about our interests in Sibley and Bird or is that just to appease us fan

Why? You forgot our owners of 15 years are a hedge fund too? Or you just enjoy a good moan about it everyday?

Moan every day? More nonsense.

I don't expect us to sell a top player and not reinvest any of the transfer fee.

And before you say we don't know that, I started the'Boddy meets the farmers thread' and no one posted any info about what went on.

But someone did tell me that Boddy said as much regarding funds for MR.
Yes, we don't know for sure that's what's going to happen but its fairly evident to me which way the winds blowing on this one.

If Burnley are such a good proposition and such a 'big' club 15 m should be no problem for them. We really shouldn't accept anything less.

We have to as we are skint so I’m afraid if you’ve got to sell the car and toy constantly tell the world it’s gotta go and what you’ll sell it for you ain’t getting top price

You’ve just demonstrated why my post wasn’t ‘waffle’.

I’m acutely aware of who our owners are so I’m prepared for an outcome in line with the way they operate. I’m sorry you’re repeatedly disappointed but I’m not sure quite what you expect from an ownership whose sole purpose is to make money for themselves and their investors.

If it goes in a different direction and we (for instance) get a player in off the back of O’Hare’s sale (fee or freed-up wages) I’m sure all the depressed people seemingly blindsided by our ownership predicament will slide away from the subject like they usually do… and will move on to the next outrage

I think most see the owners for what they are and what they truly care about. We could go around all day talking about what we think the model and aims are of the owners, but again i think most know. And most wouldn't care if they did this and stayed away from the club.

But lets talk about DB he thought last window a good substantial bid came in for Hamer and COH, he was happy enough to run to the media with it. The media then asked MR who replied no bid was good enough and definitely not what i call substantial. If that doesn't fill you with fear nothing will. The extensions were signed quickly after and all went quiet. MR must of been on the phone quicker to Joy than a rabbit on a promise, asking for clarification of the plan.

Somewhere along that line i think a lie has been told or a promise given that wasn't kept. The message selling one of your best to a prem club is understandable, selling to a rival in the same division is not a good sign. Selling without replacement says to others we are happy to coexist or fight to stay, not get out. If you sell cheap, then its open season, as we have played an open hand.

If 1 goes dont be shocked a few more follow.

The worry for me is there will come a point where those pair won't find cheap gems, get fed up of trying, and someone offers them big money and a big budget.

It's taken us years to get back to where we were when they took over, (and arguably in aslightly better position).

Joy has stuck her head above the parapet and declared her love for all things Sky Blue and we've managed to unearth a few gems thanks to the club at last having some structure and some semblance of a functioning recruitment department.

I, and I I think others, thought there was a slight chance they might try and support Robins in getting us tha bit extra required for a play off push given the potential rewards. After all, you say you're acutely aware ofwhatare owners are, well arent hedge funds aggressive speculators, (not that anyones calling for them to go mad)?

When we're this close I can't believe people are willing to accept going backwards.

£6m would be pathetic.
Not to have any of that reinvested suggests we're just happy to continue treading water and hoping for the best.

Report's this morning are, it's 3 / 4 million. If that's case it's a fu*king joke.

I don't think anyone is really about to jump off a cliff, and I do still think we have to wait and see, but there is a reason why there is a bit of doom and gloom. Whilst things have been on an upwards curve, historically speaking with shit managerial appointments, relegation's, stadium moves, selling good players etc, there is now some embedded trauma with the fans and the relationship between them and the owners. For me personally I do sometimes feel a bit of imposter syndrome at even being in the Championship because I am partially expecting it to go wrong at any moment. It probably makes me a bit over-reactive at times, but the assumption (without the added inside knowledge which we are getting and shouldn't be dismissed so easily) we are going to get shafted here is quite understandable.

As I said, we need to wait and see, but I am pretty sceptical myself. I am also pretty disappointed with our signings so far too. Maybe that is a sign of how far we have come, but it does feel like we are scraping the barrel with them a bit. That feeling of having peaked sort of nags in the back of my head too. It is a shame as well. We have an excellent management team that with a bit of backing could get us into the Premier League one day. Let's hope for a positive outcome and that the guys in charge of the football team can squeeze the best out of what they've got.
